keeps applying the pressure. screwing the screw is a variation on the English phrase of "tightening the screw" which infers a addition to the application of pressure, and when under constant pressure people make mistakes.

If you have winning advantage / line, looking for even better / more beautiful one is dangerous decision. 15:36 Of course you should have played 23. Qxf6+ Re7 24.bxa7 Qxc5 25. a8= Q It is resignable now, black is not going to continue to play against 2 queens and 2 rooks , material advantage for white is so huge and black king is still under furious attack

Okay, so around 6:05... you could have moved Knight to e-6, take her pawn. force her to move her queen away, because that would be your next take. But you can still move your knight to c-7, because she stated that she her pride won't allow her to move backwards. Then you have check with your knight...

I believe that the phrase you are looking for is 'tighten the screws' :-). I believe it is a reference to a mediaeval torture device: thumb screws. So, when you have someone in a bad position (in thumb screws), you can make it worse by simply tightening them up a bit. Great content, and as a non-native English speaker, your ability to communicate in English is incredibly impressive.

0:20 Some years back a friend and I joined a library chess club. Him and I were pretty good wood pushers, win apx 66% of games and only get trounced by “That one guy” consistently. However, I knew… bring your A Game playing kids!! I warned my friend when we joined the club. “Hey, we’re going to play some kids as well.. play harder! Were you in a chess club at 8yo?” Every time he lost to a kid he admitted, “I can’t get it out of my head! I warn myself but STILL make needlessly risky moves I wouldn’t usually make! I just expect to win!” ‘Hey Todd, think you’ll win the next time?’ Sighs, frustrated. “I Honestly Don’t Know!?” ‘Ah, there you go! Keep that in mind!’ He improved as well as expected to lose once in a bit.

There's "waiting" for your opponent to make a mistake, and there's "inducing" your opponent's mistake ... And "yes", you are able to understand the chess player's psychology in reluctance to move a piece back to where it just came from, but whose advantage is it when a piece is moved back to safety, and whose disadvantage is it? ... So play around and see if you can induce a mistake ... Also think about which pieces you might sacrifice in order to weaken your opponent's foundation ... Treat each game as you would playing New York's street hustlers ... In those games there's no preparation
