I was playing Pick N Mix last week, hit the Fields of Gold feature, it got to the end of the first level and landed on "Go On", started spinning the coins for level 2. At this point the terminal completely crashed - it made a high pitched noise and the whole screen went solid green. The attendant restarted the machine, but it hadn't credited any win. The manager then claimed to me he'd "spoken to the company" and "your spin paid £46", which is complete nonsense - I'd already completed level 1 for about £35 and the feature had started level 2, so there's no way in hell that only paid a tenner. Unfortunately some arcades are just unscrupulous, thieving scum. A decent arcade would have paid £500 for that, they'd have just apologised profusely and gone yeah we'll assume the feature would have given you the highest prize it can. Oh, and when I hit the same feature again on a different terminal, I started filming it in case any glitch happened again and the manager immediately came scuttling out of his little lair like a spider, shouting at me that I couldn't film the machines because "copyright on the games."

Funny how it's never a malfunction when the machine decides you didn't win, isn't it? "Malfunctions voids pays" is intended to protect against instances where the player hasn't actually won anything but an error in the system means winning symbols were displayed. It was quite common, for example, in early video slots for the default screen when the machine booted to be a full screen of the highest symbol. It was never intended to rob players on modern FOBTs of prizes they've actually won because of a software crash. There will actually be a record, somewhere, on a remote server of the outcome of that feature I had, it just definitely wasn't the amount the manager was claiming to me. Or certainly it would be beyond exceptional if it was. If there isn't a record, the technical and auditing rules set out by the regulators for these machines have been broken. Anyway, regardless, a good arcade (and I've been to them) values the players and the amounts they spend and would pay them out for a feature crashing halfway through which might well have given them a jackpot. It's about the standard of customer service. I've had good customer service in other places on the very rare occasions I've experienced machine errors. This was not such an example.

Age of the gods are quite volatile games, can be hard to get a bonus but then either £1 or £1000. Lol. The bonus comes in but instead of giving you 15 free spins it gives you £30 in super credit. So each "free spin" or "£2" is like a separate game so it means you could effectively win 15 jackpots from the £30 credit if the machine was paying out silly.

I expect be checked the log at the end to be sure the £500 had been recorded (accounted for in RtP). If not, they can contact nova who may reimburse them. Game is dodgy AF. The bonus is basically 15 super spins, which are all independent of each other allowing for a win over £500. Just like old day, when games will drop a credit to repeat jackpot to circumnavigate the rules of over jacpot limit.
