I never played these, it was a few decades past my childhood when it came out. Just started playing, and its really good. Tank controls work better once you get used to it, which doesn't take long. I'm having a blast.

i so agree with you, these original 3 tomb raider games are hard. Hell tomb raider 3 to me is by far the hardest game in the series.

I remember my best friend used to own Tomb Raider on PS1. I think I played a little bit of the game, but after that I never played a Tomb Raider game until years later I got the PS3 HD Collection of Tomb Raider games. I played Tomb Raider Anniversary which is a remake of the first game. Let's just say that the classic Tomb Raider games are HARD, especially on the platforming segments. If I learned anything from playing Tomb Raider Anniversary is that patience is key in classic Tomb Raider games. It's great to see remakes of classic Tomb Raider games and them being handled by people who actually love the franchise. Which is a rarity in western entertainment .Hopefully I will get these games on Switch in the near future. It's awesome to see how much of a good impact these old games have given to people. I always prefer older games over newer ones. They are just more fun in my honest opinion.

Omg yesss Im loving the heck out of these remasters. Im so glad to see you play through them Mage :D I have a small tip also. They added a quick select for weapons. Just hold inventory button then press a face button. If you dont have that weapon yet, Lara will say "No" also haha

I love how much this looks like the original and so far the sounds and music sound like the original which I'm loving. So many memories came back when I heard that opening music, my favourite music from the game. I used to play Tomb Raider 1 and 2 with my dad when I was a child as he really enjoyed the games. We only had 1 and 2, my dad never got the other games and 1 was my favourite. My favourite memory I have with this is when you fight Larson at the end of the 3rd tomb. When I beat him he fell through the step. When I looked at him from far away I could see all of him but when I went over and looked down at him I just saw his foot sticking out of the step.

i can see why you would choose that introscreen music for your funeral. I never played this game but the music still gets me as really nostagic and beautiful. Very comforting and bittersweet at the same time.Typical ambient soundscapes of the 90s. Love it! Kinda reminds me of some of the metroid prime music. You should do a playthrough of those ;)

I’m willing to bet that square wanted to follow the trend of Lara and make tifa look kinda similar because of how popular she was. I never played a tomb raider game but I remember Lara all over the place she was as big as Mario and sonic.

Oh my GOD I am so here for this. Tomb Raider I-III is my childhood. I know I've commented this before either on one of your playthroughs or on a stream, but: Tomb Raider used to be my bedtime stories. I remember that I used to sit there in the evenings and read the official guidebook out to my mom while she played on the original playstation. These games will forever have my heart. Can't wait to watch your playthrough and play along (downloading now)!

Tomb Raider 1 will always be my favorite, but... the opening screen on TR4 which travels through various locations is the best of the screens in the classic TRs. I could leave that looping for hours... it's haunting, nostalgic and kinda makes me sad at times by remembering times spent and people who're gone now, but weren't then. TR4 is pretty awesome too game play wise.

Now that you're in a Tomb Raider mood again, once you're finished the with the remastered games (and I'm guessing you'll do Tomb Raider 2 next coz it's your absolute favorite), I would recommend Tomb Raider: Legend. I had lots of fun watching your Anniversary playthrough and Legend is my favorite Tomb Raider game, with Anniversary being a close second.
