My mom is currently in the hosptial, sick with cancer. I remember when I was younger, begging my mom to get me this game, and the sudden hint of joy when she said to get her credit card. I remember showing her all my buildings, my pets, my "secret" base, and all of my friends that I met on there. I'll never forget you mom. Fingers crossed you'll live another year. ❤ UPDATE!! She died yesterday (June 20, 2023) unfortunately. Thank you for all of your sweet comments, Ill hold them in my heart forever.

There's a reason why we may never go back to experience the past, like it originally was. Although, while the future may seem dark and bleak for some of us, I guess the only thing to do is to look forward, and keep pressing on. Not like anyone can stop that from happening, so we can all relieve our childhoods. In 2014, I was 11 years old, and would regularly fall asleep on the couch playing minecraft. I'd miraculously wake up in bed (love you mom) and be up bright and early ready to start the new day. goto school, play, come home and do whatever, and hop on minecraft with my friends. I haven't spoken to those friends since 2014-2015. I hope they're doing alright. Miss you Cal and josh. Think I'm gonna hop back on minecraft.

I was 10, and pretty much every weekend since I was around 2 years old, my parents drove up to our ski house in Vermont. During Christmas, we'd stay up there for a few weeks longer, and I'd sit and play minecraft on the TV with my two other siblings while the fire was roaring, we were all in our little onesies, and my dad was making some nice dinner while my mom was finishing wrapping up the gifts. We still have those onesies, and we get new ones to fit us, and it's been a tradition. Not with the minecraft, but just sitting by a blazing fire on Christmas day while opening gifts, laughing, and reminincing about the past. I remember when my iPod had minecraft pocket edition, and me and my brother would play all the time during car rides. Him, the more engineering one, would design these amazing contraptions out of redstone while I stuck with my architectural skills in buildinig these mansions. Those maps of 1's and 0's may be gone forever, but I won't ever forget the moments I had with minecraft.

Reading everyones comments really touches my heart. I'm 35, i never played minecraft on my own, except with my kids. I played animal crossing, stardew valley, and many more with them. They are both turning 18 and 13 next month. I remember helping my kids build our first fort, trying to survive the night. Beautiful memories. Remember, all good things and bad things will pass. Appreciate the good while it lasts, and know the dark hours are not forever.

These last 3-4 years have been really hard on me. For anyone finding this later. just turned 19 today. i’m now a freshman in college and as i have moved in to school and away from my family and friends at home, i’ve spent a lot of time reminiscing these type of days in my childhood. i’ll never forget the nights when i would beg my parents to sleepover at my friends house, so we could just play minecraft all night and work on our world together. the only concern i had was how my house was coming along and if i was gonna be able to find diamonds, and now all i don’t even have the time to play video games… simpler times man. to anyone who may come across this comment and is still living at home, spend time with the ones around you because life starts to go very fast and you gain a lot more responsibilities in life. enjoy the simple times you are in or once had, but also embrace what life throws at you because we only get to do this once.

It’s crazy that as kids, we couldn’t imagine hating ourselves, or even the subject of depression, now I’m 19 in college and I see now how it’s possible, I regret not actually taking in those moments that I’d wake up hoping for a snow-day, turning on the tv, and seeing that school was canceled, running to the basement in my pajamas just to play Minecraft in some blankets.

Don't regret, just remember. And know that there will be better days to come. I know that sometimes it can be really hard, but I promise you things will feel better in time. Someday, you might look back on the days you have today and remember them fondly, and wish to go back. But remember that memories are always better observed. I was diagnosed with major depression when I was very young. But looking back on my life, especially around the time Minecraft released, since it's on the topic, I never remember the bad times as often. I just remember the games I played, my brother, and how much easier things were. I won't lie to you, I do wish I could've enjoyed those moments more, but deep inside I am just happy those moments happened. Cherish the moments you have now too, the mind tends to look back on old times fondly. Remember you are loved, and you have the strength to get through everything. It's been 12 years since I played this game, and this music still takes me right back there... memories so vivid that it feels like I can reach out and touch them, yet they may as well be from another life, and one of the worst parts about growing older is how these memories pile up and serve as a constant reminder of all of the different times in your life that you wish that you could go back to, but you know that you can't. I was 20 years old back in 2014, and I never played Minecraft all that much. But my little brother was about 7 at that time and he was obsessed with this game. I have fond memories of hearing this calming music float through the house, and occasionally he would excitedly show me cool things he created in his worlds. I was an adult going through college, working, playing different games, falling in love for the first time and generally just living my own life, but hearing these half-forgotten songs from a distant era takes me back to when things were simpler and I got to live vicariously through my brother’s childlike joy. A lot of you have become teenagers and young adults now, but you’re still young. Take it from someone who’s about to be 30: live in the moment. Realize how young you still are and how things still are simple compared to the real world. And enjoy every moment :)

Minecraft genuinely saved me and my brother. Our childhood’s were extreme rough and so when we unwrapped the box containing our first Minecraft disc in 2012 or 2013 we immediately fell in love. We made the ugliest and most confusing glowstone house in Creative, filling it with wolves and ocelots, my favorites, and pigs, my brother’s. I’m in my second year of Uni, engineering and physics. And I remember getting my first ever Xbox 360 in 2013 with my Dad and one of the first games I got was Minecraft. I had wanted to play it for so long. Now I play it with my highs chill friends and uni friends when we have the time. My first time playing Minecraft with my dad was such an unique experience. A whole new unexplored world with no boundaries. Everything we found was interesting. We were mad happy from our first iron ore. We built this whole underground bunker from stone and dirt. We were planning and preparing for our next adventures while minecraft played music for us. Eventually after countless hours on our world we had to replace the computer which had the very world. We didn't know how to transfer world saves yet, so this was when I lost my first Minecraft world. Time has passed and we even with my mom played minecraft together on many new worlds, in which we didn't progressed that far unlike in the first one. I created many creative worlds aswell I one of which I flew all over the world and built random structures like custom villages, pyramids, boats, underwater palaces and so on. And this world I unfortunately also lost becouse I was deleting some of the useless worlds and I incidetally deleted that one. I actually cried and I felt horrible. All that effort, all those structures that I built and then couldn't even find, all that... all that memories which I tried to store in that world, were gone. Some more time has passed and I started to play on servers. This was probably when I didn't play as much. But then something in me wanted to experience the very first feeling from a Minecraft so I tried many survival worlds, but I couldn't take it much far. Most of them ended right when they began. But I stumbled upon a modded minecraft. And so I had blast with the new things, mobs and biomes to explore. I have partially experienced the "very first mincraft feeling". The mods that I enjoyed the most were Biomes O Plenty and Lycanites Mobs. Those made a new series of memories for me. Unfortunately this is where my first Minecraft phase is ending. I moved on from minecraft and started to play different games. I didn't play minecraft much around this time. I and when I did, I had music turned off. It was that Minecraft is just overplayed game for me. Later I started to notice something in my brain. I felt nostalgia from the very first world that I suddenly remembered. I felt that I'm not a kid anymore. The Minecraft back then was different than it is now. Minecraft was an experience. It contains many memories. It's a part of our childhood. And everytime I hear C418's music it brings me back to the good times. Everytime I hear it... It's... I cannot finish this. Probably nobody will every read this. I just had to express my nostalgic trip. Minecraft is unforgettable... It's only shame what's happening to it because of Microsoft. But memories... childhood still lives in me thanks to Minecraft.

I would always play minecraft whenever I went to my grandma's house. She'd play the piano or teach others to; I remember being in the rain braving the darkness, building a house out of sand and realizing it had physics watching my sister do the same with gravel, trying to build a moat without buckets. I had a best friend my whole life and we used to play Cod, minecraft, fortnite, etc together since we were 9 years old. We met in school but what really made us bond was videogames. We used to play every day. As time passed and we became adults, we just stopped playing everyday and just played once or twice a week. Anyways, this guy and I were almost the same, like we were soul buds. He stopped playing completely almost 1 year ago because he has this GF that made him stop interacting with his friends. I was 8 years old when i first discovered Minecraft and i instantly fell in love with this game. I used to play with my friends and my dad on my old PS3, i loved plaing the battle mini-game and building houses out of diamond blocks. I remember getting the Xbox 360 edition after getting Java and failing to run it at a non-headache inducing framerate because my old Dell desktop just wasn't good enough for it. I'd be building a giant oak wood house with a huge fenced area where I'd summon around fifty horses. Colored beds and phantoms didn't exist back then, the Minecraft life was simple. Early 2016. I had a psychotic break. I was hospitalized for three months, and moved in with my brother. It took two years of baby steps to get back to functioning. in 2011 my dad moved out, minecraft was a good distraction. i remember playing late into the cold December nights. it’s strange how i feel happy and sad at the same time thinking about it. i’m now a few years into college and i still play minecraft once in a great while, but i know i’ll never get to feel the way i did on those cold nights: playing beta 1.8, snow falling outside, C418’s gentle soundtrack slowly lulling me to sleep.

I remember when i used to go over to my friends house all the time when i was like 5-8, I would always stay up so late with them and would never be bored. I had so much fun back then and ill always remember how i felt and why i felt that way. There are always those little moments in your life, young or not that you just completely forget all your troubles. Im happy i still have those moments while i still can.

You take a step back and and realize how much memories you've made over the years.. Nostalgia hits like a train, you remember your cousin and your brother and you playing minecraft and watching the days go by.. The days go by as fast as a car on a highway, now you've come back to that exact world, its been 9 years since you've last played, and Doge is still there along with meow. Walking through the grassy plains will bring memories that will never be forgotten. *Now why don't you keep playing that world and get your sibilings to play? The "cancer" will never touch those memories. All that has been forgotten has been retreived. And you get a shiver down your spine as you continue to play. The music brings back memories of childhood, now your 16 and realizing how much you've missed since you've last played. Everything will be alright. Depression is nothing. im 14 now, i first got this game on ps3 when i was 4-5 lol. in 2016 when i was 7, i got PE, 2019 i got windows 10 edition and 2020 i got java. on ps3, i played with my brother. on PE, windows 10 and java i played with my friends

Im only 14 but i believe that you can feel nostalgia when you´re young not because you miss your youth, but bc u miss your YOUNGER youth, because i don´t think "missing the good old days" has to do with your age changing, but rather your life changing and becoming more stressful. For me specifically, i skipped two years of school which means i start serious exams and start to have to think about what i will do in life younger than usual. I just miss the complete freedom and all the amazing memories that also came along with mc from 2014-2018. They were just better times.

I remember playing Minecraft with my old friends back in 2015 - 2019. My family had to move in 2020 due to COVID and work reasons and since then I've not been able to speak to them again and even now I wonder if they still remember. Titus, Matias, Ray, Jason, Nicholas... I miss them.

In 2012, i used to play a pirated version of Minecraft in my dad's Windows XP. To me, as a young child i was, it all felt so alien, i don't know why, but each time i played Minecraft, it felt like God himself gave me this "ultra rare" chance to play this "ultra-mature" game. Even tho i would play it every day, it felt like it was my first time. I don't know if anyone had this feeling and memories like mine. I also remember mindlessly roaming around the world, escaping from creepers until i died of hunger. I specifically have this memory where i'm climbing this mountain, wondering where it will lead me, and knowing i was gonna die of hunger. I also remember this was the last time i ever played my pirated Minecraft, since just 1 day later, the game's files got corrupted. Another thing before i disappear forever: I don't know why, but 90% of all my memories in 2012 Minecraft are either during an in-game snowstorm, on the menu or me looking at the items' icons
