"Do not follow this thread." - Ian to James in regards to teachers. I was rolling!
@e51v50h3 жыл бұрын
I am a long time fan of everything late night and have been since Johnny Carson and I swear these monologues are the best I have ever heard EVER. The comradery and carefree comfort level with the staff on this show are second to none. I absolutely look forward to watching this every day, and when you guys/gals take breaks it truly feels like a piece of my day has been chopped to bits. Keep up the amazing work. :)

For the life of me I don’t know what the deal was with the teachers. Care to explain please?
@CTPillay3 жыл бұрын
@@rallyny I think James was going to joke about why teachers need more time as they finish at 3:30…or something along those lines. And thankfully Ian stopped him! My mom is a teacher and the amount of work they do is just too much. She sometimes sits until 2 in the morning to get it all done but still doesn’t have time to complete everything. So even if she’s home at 4 everyday, she’s still bring home lots of work everyday. Being a teacher is mentally and physically draining and the deserve to be called heroes ❤️
@ViktorFury3 жыл бұрын
@@CTPillay they don’t deserve to be called heroes. They deserve to be paid properly and have significantly more support with less ludicrous hours. Let’s not normalise calling people heroes but not actually fixing the problems. Not a dig at you at all, but calling teachers, nurses etc heroes just normalises their ridiculous working hours and the expectations levied on them.
@MSBLS7213 жыл бұрын
@@ViktorFury this. You're correct. Calling them heroes doesn't help them pay their mortgages or feed their families.

I wish you good luck on weight watchers if it makes you happier. You being happy is the most important thing what other people thinks is not. You seem as though you’re a good man and you’re a handsome one. I’m sure your wife loves you just like you are. 🥰 I love the monologues they’re so dang funny. This has become one of my favorite shows since the pandemic, but the teacher comment? This just shows you have no idea what teachers do all day. Imagine recording your show from 8 to 3:30pm everyday (no bathroom breaks, no lunch breaks.) You also aren't just sitting at the desk hosting, you are responsible for the lights, the cameras, the sound and the stage managing. And while you are working your *ss off audience members keep interrupting to say "we're bored, we don't like this, where's the old host of the show, my friend saw Stephen Colbert and he's way better." Then you finish at 3:30, and you don't have a writing staff so now you need to write an entire 6.5 hour episode by yourself for tomorrow, but you don't have a writing staff, it's just you and you need to pick up your kids at 4. Teachers need an extra day for planning, and students need to learn how to invest in their own learning at least one day a week.
