For a cordless power tool specifically for use on my RCs, I picked up the older version of the Genesis 7.2 volt Li-ion 2 speed driver from Amazon for just under $23 a couple of years ago. I modified mine by removing one washer from the clutch spring mechanism to allow MUCH lower clutch release settings, works great, and I am able to run screws all the way in without stripping plastic threads, no joke! Depending on the size of the hardware used on different areas of the truck, I use clutch settings 3 to 5 for reassembly, and can still crank it up to 9 or above to loosen/remove the same screws. It has been a hell of a good value! I use my MIP quick release bits with this tool. Thanks for ask'n!

My favorite power tool to use is my Kobalt 24v impact driver... It has a finish mode for drywall screws that stops immediately after 1 impact event and applies the perfect amount of torque in low mode. Then I finish off the torque by hand with my protek bits.

Thinking about this question I realized I don’t use cordless tools regularly. I have an ancient dremel that I use quite often, but that’s not cordless. I’ll use my drill for body post holes but that’s the extent of my cordless tool useage for RC. The DeWalt Gyro driver has my interest though so I might pick that up.

I'll believe hpi is back when I see stuff in person ..... Remember when the venture took 4 years..... I do as I'm still waiting on a clear body to paint for the one I have. Nice truck no support on it though...... The capo sleeping bags keep two fingers warm per bag at the cool cost of $63.79 bag/night The only cordless power tool I have for RC is the dewalt driver. It is the gyro without the pistol grip, should I upgrade to the new one.... I really like my 4300 corded dremel, my soldering station needs a plug too..... I am in on dewalt for automotive and home repair though with the drills/impact. And I'm looking forward to this new 12v stubby 3/8 drive impact they are releasing.
