Beautiful and meaningful song! As a daughter of a Rebbi, I know how much work, time and effort goes into being a Rebbi. Rebbeim do so many behind the scene actions that usually go unnoticed. They care for our children and they are the ones who are raising the children of our generation!! We owe so much hakaras hatov towards them. One way to do that would be to help support their families. SO many children of Rebbeim and Morahs can't go to camp, and afford basic needs. We should show all our hakaras hatov towards them by helping their families. These children grow up feeling nebby, not being able to fit in because they don't have top brands. Parents of in-town lakewood and brooklyn, if you are the one encouraging your children to get top brand lululemon etc., you should be ashamed of yourselves. Have you ever thought what it might be like for children of Rebbeim and morahs, whose parents work so hard to support their families and now they won't be accepted because of the pressure of brands. Is this the way we show our appreciation to our Rebbeim- by ruining the lives of their children?! I am physically unable to get over the fact that frum parents are encouraging their children to get these brands, which will literally ruin the lives of others. How could you do this to us?! We our one nation, and how could you inflict SO much pain on you'r own people?!!

A beautiful song! Unfortunately not all rebbis r able to see why their student isn't doing good. I found out this week that a childhood friend, who was a sweet sweet boy then, started to look for trouble at the age of12, and no one really asked him what's wrong.... Almost 30 years later he spoke up and said that he was sexualy abused for 2 years by his brothers friend, and all that happened in a great neighbourhood full of great rebbis... Things were not as openly spoken about then and we didn't look out for things like this, years ago, but it is really important to talk about it and keep an eye out for our kids and tell them they can talk to us parents and rebbis about ANYTHING. We need to never lable a child as a bad child, but check what it is that is making him behave that way, and be prepared to deal with the worsed.

It's an absolutely horrific story, but unfortunately I think the rabbi was miles away from realizing that something this bad was happening, he must have thought it was just adolescence. he should have done something to fix it yes. everyone makes mistakes and hopes it doesn't happen again anywhere else. I don't think the rabbi was bad, just out of date.
