i don't think empathy can be taught. we might never understand why some people are compassionate while others aren't. an individual raised raised by abusive parents, in adverse circumstances, can turn out to be kind, compassionate, empathetic; while another person born into an upper class economic home, raised by loving, caring parents, who teach lessons on empathy, love, and ensure first rate education, can grow up to be selfish, unkind or even a sociopath.

I really, really hope Phil is okay! He's my absolute favorite dog on the internet! Update: I just finished the whole thing, and now I'm crying for Phil and his whole family! I have health issues, and I live with my mum who has plenty more of her own, as well as with a few aminals of varying ages and health (though generally, all considered, they're all doing well), and what I just saw was sweet, uplifting, and kinda scary.
