For a gay man that has never lost anyone to AIDS, this series sure made me feel as though I lost some very precious friends. Just excellent.

The show is so lucky to have Neil Patrick Harris involved in this show, not only is he a great actor in this, but all the work he's done in promoting the show, he's such a great spokesman.

The mold hit me hard. I never thought to imagine the thoughts of the people who just didn't know and never knew. Even not knowing one victim, that blind fixation just felt too human to be even slightly false.

Those of us who saw this originally this was hard to watch, well for me. I held the hands of many friends who had AIDS... also lost many to it.

“Dancing” is such a terrible generalization of what being gay can be defined. I always remember a line from Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart: “Why are all the idiots always on your side?” It is always so strange to me that a group of people that claim a cause of freedom of expression, create such constrictive and primitive definitions for themselves. There must be gay people out there who are not into dancing lol.! I don’t care about dancing... or boy George... but I am gay))).

Bowie told the world he wasn't straight 12 years before Boy George?? Strange they don't seem to know this.

@Cannibal Teddy I don't think he was playing. He had a year long affair with Lindsay Kemp, he met his first wife Angie because they were both sleeping with the same guy, he definitely had an affair with at least one of his gay managers. To gay people of my age there was only Bowie showing the way. I hope the gayaratti are not trying to re-write gay history (again) by playing down Bowie's contribution to the cause. I only say this because I recently saw two different lists of gay influential icons etc and Bowie wasn't on either and yet Elton and Freddie Mercury were?? Elton has raised millions for gay and aids charities but was still very much in the closet even at the end of the eighties (he was suing English newspapers etc) and Freddie never came out!! Yes Freddie was brilliant but he refused to support the gay movement or the aids charities at all whist he was still alive at least publicly.
