Unfortunately not anymore at Tokyo. They still do it, but only in California. Definitely a shame as I quite liked Tokyo's Holiday overlay!

I disagree because California is what has all the lights on the facade as well as the whole area which Tokyo didn't plus California has a better variety of decorations and music so that makes it instantly superior but Tokyo's was pretty good as well.

I do agree with this, though only because of Tokyo's Japanese vocals, which ideally should have been added to California many years ago. But I also agree with @RedzRobinz in that the presence of lights and some of the better decorations in CA can make it a bit better to many people. I'm not sure which one I like better, but I guess I'll call it roughly a draw because California has the lights, more decorations and a couple more show scenes, while Tokyo seems to have a few improved audio tracks. I don't prefer neither the English or Japanese Deck the Halls to one another, but of course there's the Japanese Jingle Bells in Asia which I think we can all agree is better than CA's English vocals, and it also sounds like there is new Italian band instrumentals and a different (maybe better IMO?) German band. But the loss of the Mermaids is definitely a significant loss and a major reason I don't love quite as much the layout of Florida/Tokyo IASW compared to the original in California as well as Paris. But really, for me most of those things are just nitpicks, because I really love both overlays and consider them extremely well done. For a really bad overlay, there was the original (1999-2006) IASW Celebration at Paris and the 2009-10 IASW Christmas at Hong Kong.

@@Unicus_Felicus Yes I actually agree the Hong Kong has the best Asia room for those reasons. I definitely wish they would add some of the additional languages to California and the other parks, though I cant see them changing very many existing set pieces due to both the space constraints and the historical value of the California originals. We were just talking about which Holiday version has more/better decorations in it's Asia room, of which I think Tokyo was probably best in that regard, also because they had actual Japanese Jingle Bells vocals in their Asia during the Holidays. If you have seen Hong Kong's Holiday overlay (entitled it's a small world" Christmas), you know how bad their Christmas overlay was. Little to no unique soundtracks, hardly any decorations, the decorations that were present were mostly for the Disney characters, and the most bizzare mix of audio for the queue, Welcome, North Pole, Finale, and Goodbye rooms. As in several random CD audio tracks mixed together and played throughout this area, while the rest of the ride was just the normal 1964/2008 soundtracks, followed by a generic and repetitive version of Jingle Bells.
