Paul’s voice is so much richer now which gives added depth to these songs.

Maybe a weird choice, but this is probably my fave Weller tune. Just so heart-rending.

He’s created his own orbit over the years… we weave in and out of it with him as he draws on an exceptional ear for crafting unique diamonds and his massive full spectrum record collection for inspiration…. I know this because I have one of those insane collections as well and I’ve seen where Paul gushes gracefully about the artists and their efforts that were conjured often with great care and subtle wonder….:as we tend to do when our treasured sonic finds weave their magic wand in hand tempered with nuance into our living/listening lives.

This song - and the Confessions Of A Pop Group album - is one of the least-known treasures of Paul Weller's career. Great he's doing it live (is it a recent addition to his live set?)

May well be. He’s restless in a positive way. I appreciate the fact that he’s in perpetual motion. He doesn’t seem to care to disappoint. In that sense he respects us as his audience and complements our intrigue in his next move and quite possibly our perceived (by him) musical IQ.

Which I count as one of my prized possessions. A veritable modern-day masterpiece. I especially like 'Confessions 1,2 and 3' for Paul's full-bodied and satisfying vocals and 'Changing of the guard' in which his and Dee C Lee's voices blended perfectly like hand in glove. Utterly marvellous.
