Probably the first video I've watched from start to finish. Burning Man seems so chill and peaceful from this perspective. This would be more my groove. Thanks for even inviting viewers to the silly moments between you and your friend, it made me feel like I was there.

Thank you for hanging in there for the whole thing! There's always a ton of 'stuff' going on at Burning Man, but we're all a bit more chill and quiet out in walk-in camping. Hope you get a chance to go some day!

Thanks for this video! Very few BM videos capture the essence and art of TTITD like this one. I worked the gate lanes when you came in, crazy busy night, love the opening night grave shift. Maybe see ya next year at taco Tuesday.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate Gate especially you folks that pull the graveyard shift! The Taco Disco is planning to return and we will be serving tacos Taco Tuesday and probably Thursday, after 10 pm at the fire pit in deep playa (in a straight line out from the Man and the Temple). Hope to see you there!

This is a real perspective of an individual's experience at Burning Man without all of the stereotypical things you hear about and all of the stereotypical things you know about as a burner. I love how much you seek to find the silver linings in each of the storms that come your way, little and big; always along for the adventure. * Thank you for putting the art and artist names in the video, I saw several of my friend's art pieces in there! * YOU TOOK JUNGO?!! Thanks for saying "don't take Jungo" and at the same time giving proper warnings. * Eating random fruit in the heat, poking the rain off the roof, the squeegy joke, the clips of the radio announcements, finding the height of playa fashion, running with a kite, heckling people with all the snark you can muster, THE DOUBLE RAINBOW! * "The Department of Public Works thing [420 spire] always looks like a bit of a mess..." HAHAHAHAHA * EMT + Aluminet FTW! Also congrats on adding solar. ** Thank you so much for not stuffing your camera in people's faces or filming in the middle of crowds or filming naked people. Thank you. It's experiences like yours that make me volunteer, it's your spirit and your love that inspire me to keep coming back. Thank you.

Oh my goodness! Thank you for the very kind words. I truly appreciate all the volunteers and artists that make Burning Man happen. I'm hoping to bring my own art project next year. We'll see if I get organized enough to do it! Yep, I've driven Jungo a number of times (for the Burn and for fun). I kinda have a thing for dirt roads :-) I figure a few people will be offended by the snark, but well, that's okay. We will have the Taco Disco again next year. Come on out to deep playa, after 10 pm on Taco Tuesday (near the fire pit that's in-line with the temple and the man) to say "Hi" and get some awesome tacos!

Thanks so much for this thoughtful video on your 2023 Burning Man. My husband and I are veteran burners who volunteer with Gate, and chose to take this year off to relax in Isla Holbox. It’s great to see genuine takes from Prepared and dedicated burners who listen when they say “stay put”, but schadenfreude is its own sweet morsel!

I have really enjoyed your Burning Man videos for 2022 and 2023. I'm going to BM for the first time this year. You have inspired me to do the walk in camping. I learned a lot from your videos. I'm almost ready. I was wondering? I noticed you have a lot of valuable equipment. I do as well. Do you take any precautions to secure your gear when you are away from camp. Are items safe at BM? I'm considering at least chaining everything valuable together. I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on this. I'll be camping by myself. My son will be there in a camp near the airport.
@ARoarHar3 ай бұрын
Welcome to walk-in camping! Probably the most significant security "measure" is just the location of walk-in camping. Most thefts at Burning Man are "thefts of opportunity" and it's a long walk/ride to get out there, which limits the opportunity (no cars are allowed out there as well). That said, I do lock things together and lock my tent and shade structure and also employ tracking devices and motion alarms where practical (you can get cheap motion alarm devices on Amazon - the best ones I've found are made for motorcycles). The most important is to always lock your bike! Even better is to lock two bikes together. It also helps to meet your neighbors so everyone is watching out for each other. If you see two giant aluminet rectangles out there, that's probably Lucy and me, feel free to come say 'Hi'!

@@ARoarHar Thanks, I appreciate all of your suggestions. Gives me some ideas. I hate leaving camp for several hours and worrying about my gear the whole time. Takes the fun out of it. I'm an experienced camper. I do a lot of boondocking in the S. Cal desert, but this will be a very different experience with some new challenges. I would like to say Hi. I have 2 grey pop up shades together with aluminet sides and a mini Shiftpod underneath. I purchased 30, 12" lag bolts to hold me down. Thanks again>>>>
