@@TreySarver actually those probably cost a lot so that might not work. Another idea I'm stealing from another youtube channel is on some of the membership levels they give discounts on merch. Usually it's around 10% to 20% depending on the membership level. This encourages people to buy merch from their store which in turn when people wear in public is free advertising for the channel. Imagine if a bunch of us went to a game with Flying Fluffy merch on for a channel meet up. Maybe we can get on TV with it.

Unless I’m looking at the wrong account, the last instagram post was in 2022. We need to get your marketing up. I agree you deserve your donations, but that cannot be your primary goal. I tell everyone I can about the channel but I feel like we need some big shoutout from some sponsor, you know Also, as an outsider listening in. I keep hearing about other channels. If you want to get this Florida Panthers Hockey channel booming, I would imagine you put all your effort into seeing that dream come true. I could see how spreading yourself thin does not help. There's a big misconception people have about youtubers and how "easy" they make money. Some easier than others depending on the avenue they go but most of the time it's really hard regardless. Everyone says you can't just rely on the ads and that first level. You need the memberships, the brand deals, all of it. I think they think once youre monetized, youre basically set up and smooth sailing from there and it isnt that way at all lol that's what I've learned. I hope you're able to keep the channel. I added a membership. We definitely get value out of your channel. My boyfriend and I. We love you guys and it's definitely a bonding thing for us to watch the videos together. I was mourning with you for sure with the passing of Ellie and Fluffy because my dogs passing was super hard for me... Cheers to the new season and what feels like a whole new team to me lol Go Cats!

Thank you and you are very correct. All of my KZbinr friends go through the same things in terms of frustration anxiety and sometimes even depression over the constant pressure of needing to find an idea for content while not really having any say over how many people watch that content mostly up to the algorithm. What I always tell people is that you see somebody that makes it as a KZbinr more than 4 years, they really really must love what they're doing.

Yeah I totally agree I definitely need another revenue stream it's just this all happened so fast over the summer my head has been spinning and I haven't really had time to figure out exactly what to do other than restart the channels lol.

Do what you do for the love of the hobby. Creating content, engaging with the community. If you go about it with money first and foremost in your mind, you’re not gonna enjoy it in the long term. You’re a passionate guy. Just being genuine and if you can show that you are having fun doing what you do is better than any ”marketing”. People are looking for good vibes. You’ve already gotten your name out there, that’s how I found you. Just keep doing what you do. Have fun and people will see you. If money is the issue, I would look into cutting the cost of production. You’re basically doing react/review content so all you really need is an Ok mic, camera, computer and electricity. You’ll need a day job to pay the rent. For now atleast.

I appreciate the comments for sure. My cost of production is already paid for by equipment I bought years ago before the pandemic took my business so I'm good there. Now of course I do pay a lot of money for DirecTV and the KZbin football package and ESPN plus and Amazon prime because that's the only way I can guarantee I see all of the games. The biggest issue for me is time, I already worked for eBay business about 20 hours per week along with Kyle, so there's only so many more hours in the day that I can work, which is why I'm trying to make it the channel. If I get a full-time job I still need to work the eBay business to fill in the gaps financially, which is not going to leave enough time, to keep making content on the channel. Now I definitely might need to get some kind of part-time job to fill in the gaps depending on how things go this season, but I just figured since this was the start of my 9th year it's time to find out if I can make it a full-time income or not.

@Eskolol - I agree with your position. I'll include my two cents only because FFH is basically inviting the conversation about the operation and finances of his channel. One of the rules of business is to only expand when the revenue stream can afford it. FFH seems to be doing it backward. High cost of operations (relatively speaking) with low revenue. He might have his reasons but it's not a balanced formula. It is not an approach that facilitates long-term success. There are exceptions to the rule but if FFH is-and-has-been struggling for a while now, the case is made that his channel is not an exception. Soliciting donations might work, maybe his following is loyal enough but again, the fact that he is-and-has-been struggling financially over the years indicates that people aren't tripping over themselves to donate money. My consideration is that FFH needs to reduce expenses. I'm not sure what he's spending, was it $700 per month on? But he needs to reduce the expenditures to match his revenue stream. Here's the thing and this is my opinion but I've thought about it a bit and also I have a background in television and media. He is a guy standing in a room sharing news and giving his opinions. That should cost approximately $0 per month to undertake. Using his cellphone for video recording and video editing will create about 90% of the production value that having a more expensive setup and hiring an editor to edit the videos will provide. To reiterate, I watch his channel primarily for news and secondarily for his take on the news. Nothing else that he's doing matters to me. I don't even actually watch his video. It's usually playing in the background, my phone across the room while I'm doing chores. I would guess that most of his other viewers are similar to me. So, FFH's main value and his key to success are not his production value but his ability to provide news and opinions faster than his competitors. He should put all his effort into that and quite frankly, simply have unedited, messy, live stream-like videos that break news and opinion of the news ASAP. That's his main value. Anyway, this comment is entirely too long but I am concerned because I value the FFH channel but it seems as thought won't last because his approach to business is the reverse of every business 101 textbook. I'd donate $10 per month BUT inflation is killing my household and... here's the kicker... there are competitor Panthers channels that offer very similar content and are not asking for money. If I can get the news and editorials for free, why would I pay? FFH hasn't made his case compelling enough. But that's my take.

I upgraded my membership to the 9.99 membership level to help out. I wish i could gift the higher level memberships, but im not sure how which memberships you can gift is determined. Sadly in the off season there are no game steams to gift memberships on. Once the season is back ill be back to gift memberships.

@@TreySarver I did it on mobile. If you click on the channel name there's a membership tab next to the community tab. (you have to scroll over to get to it, or I did) Once you click membership it says change level. CLick that and scroll down to the bottom where the 9.99 option is. There should a button that says change level.
