I agree with the Olympus statements. With few choke points on the map, it feels really difficult to predict potential 3rd parties in both pubs and ranked. So many times I'll get shot from random angles from teams that I had no idea were around. My strategy for Olympus is to focus on long range engagements and pick off teams from a distance and slowly rotate into zones 2 and 3 without hard engaging until the last push in zone 4 for a good spot for the end game. As a solo queue player, I just can't count on my randoms to win contests off drop so I try to land safe most matches and make sure everyone is looted up before fights.
@atemkeng33 Жыл бұрын
Haha, you are adding to the problem with longranging weapons as well. But I get you, if you cant beat them, join them. I thing loba is really good, nice escape, fast looting up the team so your randoms can play with the weapons they are comfortable with and crafting banners. Amd of course having that booty helps as well, when ratting in a corner and doing emotes.

12:35 This is a great example of the difference between diamond and master. A diamond player might instantly go for the rez, or get that juicy headshot and try chasing the octane down, but you used that opportunity to get the rez and then immediately take the space above you to keep pressure on the other team The prioritization on staying alive is great too. A lot of my teammates in diamond will get cracked and think they can still win a 1v1, only to get beamed in the back. Knowing when you are at advantage vs at disadvantage is something that you don't learn with gunskill and movement alone

@GerryLo5198 Жыл бұрын
@@tquinn272 I was gonna write a long reply but I’m gonna try to keep it short. I was hardstuck D4 and D3 as well, around the same season I think. It was cryptos launch season. Got my ass whooped so bad I didn’t touch ranked again til the end of S11. But let me tell you, I’ve hit master in S12, S14 and now S16. I’m even gonna make a push for Pred next split. The way I was able to do that? #1 find your sense! Whether that’s ALC, or 4-3 linear no dead zone, 4-4 classic. Whatever works for you, stick to that and don’t stray too much. The muscle memory in your shot is what’s gonna take you to Master bro. Not gonna tell you what sense I play cause it’s irrelevant, what matters is your sense and how comfortable and confident you are shooting your guns. I will say that the meta senses in the game are definitely 4-3 linear small or no dead zone, and 4-4 classic. You really can’t go wrong on those. #2 Practice your recoil bro! I didn’t see the value of the shooting range until S12. You can only shoot your gun so many times in a real game. The range lets you practice as much as you want with any gun, and with any combination of attachments. This is where your sense comes into play, develop that muscle memory. Once you start beaming dummies you’ll eventually start beaming real players, the only difference is you have to do a little bit of tracking. But even that’s not much of an issue with the new strafing dummies in the range! Stop using the snipers, stop picking up the sentinel, the charge and longbow in your load out. These guns will get you damage but will not improve you as a player. Practice with all the meta ARs and SMGs. Develop your mid range game. All the best players in Apex are dominant in the mid range game. I’m talking 2x, 3x and 4x scopes on your ARs and precision weapons like the G7 and 30-30. #3 watch where other teams are landing during your drop ship and formulate a game plan right away! A lot of solo qers are followers and will try to play off their randoms. Don’t be that guy, be proactive. Lead your men. Comm and talk to your guys, it breaks the ice and let’s everyone’s ideas flow. Some game plan examples, if you’re uncontested, you go kill or 3rd party the nearest team/ teams and clear out that side of your map. After you kill that initial team, you are free to rotate for the rest of the game with your KP. You don’t have to push every shot. Trust me, you want to try to kill the nearest team to your POI because when it comes time to rotate into zone 3 and 4 it becomes a sandwich fest. This way you don’t have to worry about your back. It’s risky I know, but you have to fight eventually, might as well take a fight you have some control over. #4 patience and determination. The only way to progress in this ranked system is to be the best fighter you can be. Make sure you’re actively practicing something every ranked match you play, whether that’s your recoil, your rotations, or your teamwork. It’s like planting a seed, you have to water it over and over before you see those results. It might a week, a month or more but something clicks eventually. Some general all purpose tips for your ranked grind. Always pick up nades before and after every fight. Nades are game changers bro, all the best players know the power of nades in a fight. If you do well and wipe a team, don’t let your hard work go to waste, heal and watch your back for a potential 3rd party, preferably on height, before doing any serious looting. Good luck my dude, I’m sure you’re a great player and you will only improve. You can do it, you can hit Master, it’s in your hands. Your teammates can’t carry you to Master. You have to do it. Remember I was hardstuck D3 and D4 like you as well but I chose to look for my weaknesses and improve upon them. Good luck my friend.

Told u not easy to rank to master with brain dead randoms. Mine just runs towards enemies and die 1 v 3 in diamond lobbies.
@devyntheunbroken7303 Жыл бұрын
Once you hit your limit, it's impossible. From someone who put 2k hrs in this game I can't find a way to improve. I tried aim training, learning recoil patterns, finding a comfortable sens (mnk) and all I can hit and bounce in is D2 and entry to D1. Can't figure it out, and I want to hit pred
@Genghis_Khaan_ Жыл бұрын
Having good aim and finding the right sense is definitely nice and useful, but that’s not what really gets you to masters and above. Usually diamond players are stuck because they’re good enough to get that rank but not good enough with their team to climb any higher. If you solo queue then you’ll still have to play off your team. At that point, the benefits of having good aim and movement isn’t comparable to how beneficial it is to have good teamwork/coms with the randoms. I honestly think that developing a good IGL mentality and game awareness helped me out more than aim/movement.
@HappyBeezerStudios Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have the mechanical stuff down, but have you tried reviewing your own gameplay? You might be able to backseat yourself if you review your games. There is always things you can pick up in hindsight. Decisions that you would've done different, etc. Basically finding the faults in your gameplay that gets you killed. If you notice a pattern, something that you keep doing wrong, you can fight something that you can work on.
@devyntheunbroken7303 Жыл бұрын
@@HappyBeezerStudios I have been, and it's really positioning. I take 1 on 1 fights or be out of sight of one guy and aim or tell my team to shoot this guy. Not trying to blame teammates, but trying to 1v2 or 3 is near impossible, or when my teammates are shooting one guy that decides to help his buddy and both swing on me at the same time.

Honestly solo q is actually not that hard if your mechanically good, all you need is to take an igl role, most people wont listen to you or want you to igl, because of ego but if you have a good banner with high kills, people will follow your comms, this is why shiv is the solaq goat, his banner is insane and nobody compares so they follow him just off his banner, and his comms he constantly talks to his randoms 24/7, so he forces them to play with him
@cooltron Жыл бұрын
Wrong. It's not whether or not your teammates listen to you, it's that they're just BAD in general. Diamond is just glorified plat players. And we all know what kind of people plat players are. The times you get good people are few and far between. Teammates just make really really bad decisions and you end up in a 2v3 now and have to run.
@tgixnz2769 Жыл бұрын
@@cooltron not if you constantly communicate with them and set them on the right path to play better, one mechanicly good player can carry the weight of the two randoms, but without comms you have them unorganized, they dont know where yo rotate, what building to play, whos cracked etc. And thats what leads to bad decisions, constantly com. Take igl role and move your team in ways to win, doesn't matter if their aims dogshit
@cooltron Жыл бұрын
@@tgixnz2769 Wrong again. Aim is everything in apex. If you can’t do your 1v1’s or kill anything it doesn’t matter what your positioning is or how well your rotations and third parties are. If you can’t aim or kill it’s a wrap. #2 a lot of people don’t have a mic or use their mic. So they can’t make call outs that are necessary to help the team. #3 a lot of times you solo queue into a duo squad. And they think they’re hot shit and just don’t listen no matter how nice you are. I can tell from your words that you don’t play apex a lot and that you don’t solo queue a lot as well. Because everything you’re portraying just isn’t realistic in game. I’ve been playing since day 1 and I mostly solo queue. I’ve soloed to masters and pred before but now I prefer in squads only. I can tell you haven’t been master or pred solo because nobody would say what you’re saying
