Amelia, my father gave me a tip for tulips :): dont put too much water in the vase, just a little (3-5cm!) you have to water them more often then, BUT they wont "drink" too much water so their flowerheads wont be heavy and fall down and look sad as yours :) hope you understand me :D greetings from germany!

You might be able to revive those tulips if you re-cut the stems at an angle and put them in cold fresh water :)

Best tip for tulips.....when you first get any flowers cut on the diagonal and for tulips, get a pin and pierce the tulip all the way through behind the head...keeps them upright and either add a little sugar or a penny to your water. Great mirror and lovely flat. Hope you're happy and healthy in it :)

May I suggest putting some felt or even just paper napkins between your serving dishes. It helps protect the surface from the clanking of the dishes, could also prevent unnecessary chipping. They're so pretty, it would be a shame to damage them.

One trick I've learned for keeping flowers in good condition for longer is to drop an aspirin tablet in the water. I'd never heard the penny trick! I'll have to try it out though I know the pennies in the US now are basically just cheap metal with little to no copper in them...

You need a taller vase for tulips ((: their stems are much more "hollow" than normal plants! So they need tall vases to support their growth! (Like this comment so Amelia can see and save her next batch of precious tulips!)
