The thing with Pogba's doping is, it is difficult to say if he deserved the Ban or not. Cause, the substance it took, was contained in an integrator he took in America during the pre-season tour. Basically, he did not feel at the top, and still felt pain, so he decided to take an integrator to increase the muscle growth and go back to condition. However, in America, the doping controls, and in General, the controls applied on the products sold to the general public, are way less strict, and there isn't a precise or complete list of banned substances or chemical products, so he took this integrator, which was recommended by a doctor who was also highly recommended by one of Pogba's staff members, thinking it did not contain any doping substances. The confirmation of this version has arrived in september, when they found this integrator, which was regularly sold in America and also free to use for sporting activities, and found traces of the doping chemicals. Was he dumb for not saying what he had done to Juventus before the control, so that the club could avoid this situation? Surely, but, he did not want to take it voluntarely, and this has been confirmed multiple Times during the entire process, hence why here in Italy, no one is like, mocking, insulting, or going at him, the general Feeling is just like "was it really necessary?"

He got away with it at Juventus when he had the freedom to roam around when playing next to Pirlo and Vidal, and got away with it for France because of Kante, who covers more earth than water. I had the same injury at a big rugby club, the windows for lateral meniscus tear they want you back on the field as soon as possible with 6-8 week light running post op. Football however with info shared between london clubs across clubs indicates a massive difference in recovery strategy and fear based rehab and muscular growth as our head conditioner described it. Checking, Pogba had a conservative strategy to the injury which is code for slow recovery but quicker than a normal person having recovery period. The big focus in the strategy of getting back as soon as possible is stabilisation and muscle building around the knee joints with daily monitored rehab. What is common in rugby at least is managed play load based on contract dependency I.e as a young player, there was very little risk in having cortisonsal injections in more extreme cases nerve blocking (something Mourihno got pissy about after and got a legal letter for slander and got one of the tabloids a libel case (I had the same guy who was Chelsea team doctor)) The reason I bring it up is that Pogba's camp knew that cortisonal lubrication injected into the knee was not suitable for football players on long term deals and expected to play late in career as over time it can cause the joint to seize up. On the NHS the absolute maximum amount people can receive is once every 6 months. I knew players that had 3 a week to lubricate the area around the cartilage to prevent scraping and further tearing; for pogba and Juventus, he was far too valuable to undergo the treatment as playing through injuries like that is reserved for less valuable commodities (sadly myself at the time). Ergo, the injection, the nerve block (as that puts a direct timer on playing career, Lampard having the same doctor, he told me that it's something done once it's over and a few more relaxed years were on the clock I.e his decision to go to MLS was directly tied to that last payout whilst he couldn't technically feel the injury that he was still suffering.) For his team, I can see why they sought the steroid method as whilst not thought of as such, steroids are designed to increase recovery instead of muscle growth (as well as muscle wastage which is key here I think). During that prolonged and conservative strategy, with no other intervention strategy available, usingnthe steroid to strengthen the key areas to support the cartilage which is an injury that is known to continually flair up and tear again so its understandable in a sense why they would elect to get extra help but the mistake was doing so whilst he sat on the bench. The testers even in rugby are extremely vigilant so why on earth they thought he would slide by I have no idea, one guy in the team had them show up to his daughter's birthday party to test him. Whether he thought star power and sitting the bench would protect him, it mentioned he was caught in a control test so the results they use as a baseline against levels of hormones above the average. All in all, it seems the strategy of getting him back playing took precedence but the call likely came from him or his camp as even though as Juventus would have been paying for someone not playing, they are way too conservative in treatment therapies to have pushed for an advanced return unless they were really in trouble.

@@Vizeh Could be interesting to do a video on doping in football as a video? There's been allegations of doping in football since Arsenal in the 1920s. You have the West German team of 1954, with their dressing room apparently full of needles after the WC final (which they surprisingly won) and we're accused of using pertivin. You've got the Inter team of the 1960s, The Ajax team of the later 60s/70s. Beckenbauers alleged blood doping in the 70s. Feyenoord doping in the Dutch cup final in 1980. Toni Schumacher wrote an autobiography in the 80s about his doping in the sport in the 70s/80s. Zico also stated he'd been taking injections since he was a teen. Not to mention the Marseilles team of the 90s and Juventus in general. Think there's potential for a long and quite interesting video there 👍

There we flashes like the 3-2 comeback at the Etihad and the 5-1 vs Leeds where he had 4 assists, but after the 17/18 and 18/19 seasons there was such a massive drop off in terms of production and all the injuries. I'll always say that Paul "on his day" Pogba is one of the most talented footballers in the world.

Great video! There is just one point that I think is worth mentioning. The 2018 World Cup, which France won, may have contributed to the downfall of some of its players. The French squad was very young and talented, with many future stars emerging at that time. Winning the World Cup at such a young age may have led some players to believe that they were already the best in the world. In my opinion, this overconfidence may have hindered their careers or potential careers. Players like Ousmane Dembele, Thomas Lemar, Paul Pogba, Umtiti, Tolisso, Fekir, and even Mbappe (although he has the potential to still achieve greatness) have not had the successful careers that many would have predicted. Somehow, winning the World Cup seems to have had a negative impact on these once-promising young talents.

I think the beginning of the end for him was going back to United. Mourinho was in decline as a couch with an outdated style of play and constantly beefing with players and staff, and the team wasn’t at a high level. I believed that he would become the scapegoat for everything because he was the only world class player in the beginning and that’s exactly what happened. On other teams like City or Liverpool bad performances were the coaches fault or just something that happened, but for United everything was Pogba’s fault as if he was the only one playing. And I’m not saying he was flawless throughout his time there, but it felt like the rest of the team didn’t get half of the criticism he got. He had a very good career even though the end has been a shambles. Most people watched clips of him on KZbin and think he was like that for 90 mins very good player but never reach the level of modric Xavi or others of being a 7 out of 10 each week

I’m an Arsenal fan. But Pogba combined everything I love about a midfielder. Tall, Powerful runner, strong in duels, incredible dribbling and flair, ability to play a defence splitting long/short pass & amazing ball striking technique. It’s a shame his actual work ethic wasn’t of the same world class standard as he could’ve been one of THE generation defining talents of his era.
@moxammed6108 ай бұрын
Nope, his work ethic was fine. He was set up to underperform at united.

I’ll never forget Jimmy Conrad back in the kick tv days predicting the next player to win the ballon d’or after messi and ronaldo would either be Neymar, Isco, Gotze, El Shaarawy or Pogba. 10 years ago thought they would be ones we’d talk about the next generation but it never happened (having said that Gotze and Pogba won a World Cup Isco and Neymar have won champions leagues and El Shaarary won a confederations cup and europa conference league)

The enigma that is Paul Pogba has played his last ever match against Udinese where he got injured again and that was last season. The 4 year ban could be the end of Paul Pogba as a player.

Pogba was one of the best players to watch ever, full stop, because even if he didn't do anything you just know, in the back of your mind "but he could though" and even in games he played like shit 99% of the time, that 1% would change the game he was dominant at Juve, completely dominant, and honestly, I feel like going back to Utd was what ruined him, he's not innocent himself, but the clownshow that is Man United since 2013 absolutely had an effect, I mean it's happened to how many other players, United is a cesspit at the moment and has been for years, which is likely down to the Glazers, but that can't be denied, hopefully it changes cause even tho I'm not a Utd fan, it's weird not seeing them at the top honestly I doubt we'll ever see PP play again, he's not the kinda player like Iniesta who would play just for the love of the game when he's like 72, unless this gets overturned, which I strongly doubt, we'll never see him again, which is sad, but yeah, even if this didn't happen he wasn't the PP of even the Utd days with all his niggling injuries

If you did an LMA mansger 32 Man U* squad for all united players during the premier League era. Pogba would be lucky to get in. * based on their Man U performances only.

Watched him many times at youth level for United, looked like a world beater. Once Fergie let him go you knew there wasn't something right with him. As mentioned in another coment. I think people outside of the club had a negative affect on him.

Could you look at dortmund vs Hoffenheim? Their squad are at 90% power (apart from Emre Can being a centre back) and they still lost. At the surface they have solid players but somehow aren't winning anything. Breaks my heart mate

Pogba definitely was one of if not the most talented midfielder of his generation, compared to the likes of Gundogan, De Bruyne, Verratti, Eriksen, Casemiro. Only de Bruyne is someone who I can see as being on the same level of talent, he just did more with it. Any tournament he played with the French national team, he was one of their star players. Whenever he played with the national team, it was clear to me that he was the most talented midfielder on the planet.

The United move similar to CR7’s return was completely different to the Fergie days. The defensive tactics at United didn’t help his implementation either when you compare with his role in the national team. Fan and reaction channels boomed at this point so the scrutiny was even worse, the further united reeled. It’s just a shame at Juve he was absolute class. Realistically, he already has a ton of baggage so this will probably be the end of him playing at a high level.

Some of the revisionism I’ve seen online regarding Pogba is crazy. Had a couple great seasons at Juve, 2 good seasons max at United and a good World Cup and Euros. Does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as legendary midfielders like KDB and Modric

As a liverpool Fan, i knew Pogba announcement extravaganza was equivalent of Armani Suits and Spice Boys Fiasco from Utd, anyhow from 2016, we just got front seat to see capitulation of Utd squad and Alleged Virus AKA Pogba.

He threw away his last year at United. And now he’s stripped of another 4. He shouldn’t have pretended to be injured so much when he had the opportunity to play.

AS a life long Man U fan I hate Pogba as a professional footballer and honestly feel he is up there with the Glazers for the harm and chaos he brought to United. Fergie knew it back in his youth, his temperament and attitude and character was very weak and suspect and very frustrating, but also said he was a nice lad. I still think most football fan`s think ability is more important than character when clearly its not . With out character ability is useless. I don`t hate Paul Pogba as a person and honestly hope he comes through his troubles a better man and finds some kind of inner peace.
