I agree. My Vietnamese roommates owned a toaster oven (they had a oven and used it for storage lol) and I bought a small Pyrex baking dish and baked many things in it. Cornbread, cakes, cabbage rolls, and more lol I originally used aluminum pans, but bought the Pyrex pan. I do the same now, with the same Pyrex pan and my grandparents hand-me-down 80s vintage Black And Decker toaster oven. I bet money that the Vietnamese couple also had a Black and Decker. They're the best, at least the older ones. Mine is over 40 years old and no problem. It's astonishing. I keep it clean and the fire extinguisher is a couple feet away. I'm waiting for it to die, but it won't. And I'm happy with that. My late 70s crock pot gave out sooner.

Some of us Malaysian don't have oven in the house. When it comes to steam the foods, we normally have the right pans for steamer. For me, it's super normal to use pans for steaming. But the most impressive thing is he actually dipped the wrapped salmon into the water. What's more surprising is he only used parchment paper for this. I'm very surprised with this method 😊👍🏻

To keep things even simpler and cleaner, I pop this in a air fryer. Spray a little oil in the base of the paper or foil or place a tissue at the mouth of oil bottle and spread the oiled tissue on the base. Place Potatoe slices (toss with a little pepper and salt) Place salmon (squeeze some lemon) Wrap it, pop in air fryer 10min 180C (you gotta test with your machine), in the meantime cut the cherry tomatoe Open it, Add cheese slice, cut cherry tomato into half and place on top of cheese and close it for another 3min. Drizzle lemon juice and serve. No mess, little to clean too.

Parchment paper is EVERYTHING. You can easily buy it normal grocery stores nowadays. Use it to make all pans nonstick and to roast and poach foods in. It's amazing, natural (I buy the unbleached brown variety) and biodegradable.
