Funny how times change i learnt kiting on a 7m blade, both landboarding and my first foray into kiteboarding, it's surprising how many kiteboarders have only flown lei's, i have a flysurfer speed 3 delux like you say the feeling of float is something lei's can't match, great vid hope north is paying you well no better way to show off a board...

Duotone look after me 👍 I'm a UK team rider, I fortunately have had the opportunity to try many brands and happy to choose Duotone. I started kiting on a 6ft stacker in 1996, then learnt to kitesurf on a mk1 blade 7.2 and an old surf board I found at the dump about 20yrs ago 😄 I used to fly the old deluxe, titan etc too. Some of our older videos have me on a directional board and a blade 8.5 VIP, it's for sale if you want to buy a newer blade model, i don't use it enough now 😉

Great video David- I wish I started this sport in my teens or early 20's. Being nearly 40 has me too scared to start looping the kite now. I can do downloops for transitions but cannot pluck up the courage to send it for heliloops after big jumps. What advice do you have? Are lessons appropriate at this point? Should I 'just send it'? What's the best kite size and wind strength for learning heliloops (70kg rider)? Thanks so much- any advice much appreciated.

Definitely don't just send it it as there is a lot of finesse two doing loops which varies on days depending on the wind and kite size that you're using. this is definitely something that you could look to do in lessons and we teach this as well as although Loops and kiting come with inherent risk there are far safer ways to learn a loop and much more dangerous ways to learn loops. [e-mail] if you want to book lessons or look for a good school nearer you if your too far away. Check they are very capable with loops first 🤙 heli loops are your friend, you just haven't been introduced properly yet
