What they’re doing is, is driving football fans away from the game and they won’t have any income for it. We’re so tired with the decisions they make where you can see clearly for what it truly is: 1) Corruption 2) Blindly biased

On rugby they care about getting the right decision, ref looks at big screen, talks with 4 official, they find to best conclusion, might not always feel it's right but at least due process os made & feel they tried & it's usually good. Fans being tribal really isn’t doing the game any favours. Look back at Calciopoli, completely destroyed Serie A when they were at the top of their powers. AC Milan dominating Europe, Inter Milan and Juventus battling it out for the league. Even the teams ranked 3-7 were also unbelievably good, Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio, Parma. Corruption will ruin everything that’s built by hard working players and managers, and even honest going fans. If this is the level of refereeing you’re allowing for the “best league in the world” sooner or later you will see everything spiral. Coote was the first and he’s probably just the tip of the iceberg.

As usual, Sky Sports won’t go into the glaring inconsistency, because that’s where it really gets embarrassing. - One player gets a yellow card, albeit a second yellow card, whereas the Arsenal player gets a straight red. - Not only that, but the player who got the second yellow should have already been off the pitch minutes into the second half for kicking the ball away, again inconsistent with treatment earlier in the season for Declan Rice. Sky Sports is awarded the TV contracts, so it will always hold back on full dissection of awful sketchy officiating (PGMOL).

Michael Oliver is a pathetic excuse of a referee! Officiating is the WORST it's ever been in the Prem! and PGMOL is NOT fit for purpose

More specifically the question has to be asked about Michael Oliver’s impartiality when refereeing any Match involving Arsenal. You only have to look at the number of red cards he has given against Arsenal compared to any other side and there is definite bias, that is without looking in depth against other contentious decisions he has made against Arsenal. It’s almost as if yesterday he went out of his way to ensure Arsenal could not win the game!

Michael Oliver is one hell of an incompetent referee if not biased!

Michael Oliver needs to be investigated already. Clearly biased. He shouldn't be a ref for any more PL games. Why does he keep giving red cards to arsenal for things no other ref would ever give one for? Red card for foul throws, kicking a ball away, a tactical trip. You'll never ever see him give reds to any other team for the same reasons.

Liverpool fan here.. thats a poor decision from the onfield referee and VAR.

If MLS has a red card for that tackle, then definitely Gomes should have also had a straight red card.

After the Coote scandal I really don't trust the referees anymore , Oliver are too arrogant and the VAR room are too afraid to tell him

lewis skelly is straight red. gomes was 2nd yellow. and his tackle not recognized as injury threatens

Michael Oliver, the controversial referee who has been the subject of controversy in recent years, should not be put in charge of the next match between Arsenal and Manchester City held on February 2nd, 2025. He has a history of bias towards Arsenal, and his presence could disrupt the match. His decisions could have a significant impact on the outcome, and it would be best to replace him with a more impartial official.

It was the archetypal tactical trip we see a hundred times across the leagues every week, and its easiest decision in football - yellow card and carry on. Its maybe the only thing all referees are consistent on, all the time - but Michel Oliver likes to innovate when its Arsenal.

My initial thoughts, were that this ref has lost it. I questioned, why would he put himself in that situation, without at least a review. However, in considering, the other side of the coin, Oliver, was in the thick of things. Must have been a high pressure situation, surrounded by the tension, at that moment. A calmer ref, would have probably seen that differently. In Oliver's defence, the way that Wolves player went down, made it seem like a cynical tackle. In saying this, the ref should have been sent to review, the tackle. Why have the technology, if you refuse to use it. If the PGMOL dig their heels in, to support Oliver, this red card may not be overturned. If it is overturned, then it may be time to bench or relegate, Oliver to a lower division for a spell.

You know it’s a bad decision when even Mike Dean disagrees with it!

I thought it was the correct decision. His studs went down the guys leg, onto his foot. It was a reckless tackle.
