I've heard people ask why the records of the 50s and 60s got that lush sound, and this is literally the answer. No digital reverb, they'd have huge halls or echo chambers, sometimes complicated tunnels, miked and mixed in with the original source sound to give it this dreamy quality. Beautifully played, and a beautiful quality. Thanks for this!
@BTTRSWYT5 ай бұрын
I'm excited about physical modeling technology for exactly that reason. Getting that beautiful lush sound without needing to find spaces like this is wonderful especially for people who don't have any near them (me)

@@BTTRSWYT It is quite amazing tho is it not? The intelligence and creativity to find ideas like that, to create something like that without a machine. Simply amazing, i am an engineer student who loves tech that can make this easier, but i find even more fascinating how one could make something like that and make it work like that.
@timg82575 ай бұрын
@@MisterShaggyDoo bruh. Respectfully, it’s not that complicated to find a tunnel and record an instrument to get that hall reverb effect. And it’s not that complicated to add a recording of a counter melody.
@dylanlee4965 ай бұрын
@@timg8257you think that bc it exists now. During that time, it was a novel idea. Who would take their instrument to a tunnel to randomly play when they can play at home and sound just fine? It’s not abt how complicated it is, it’s abt how novel and how strange it is to even think of. In fact, it was probably found accidentally, not on purpose.

I love this so much. Nobody around. Peace. It truly sounds like, an end.. And that Reverb is perfect. Not echoey, but REVERBEY and a crisp clear sound - without interference. And I feel like this music is so forgotten and nostalgic because it's so 'un-modern', but it really wasn't that long ago. Less than 100 years and sounds like both older and newer. It's like a generation we lost.. A generation we forgot, a time.. that didn't matter apart from history.

A while ago I went to the abandoned pa turnpike. Thought it’d be fun to walk the whole thing in a day, and tbh, it was. I had a cassette player on me, with a couple songs loaded up. Fallout style old times beats. One song was “house of the rising sun” I was walking through a tunnel, it was over a mile and a half long. And I see lights. One flickers. It’s people. I let the song play, then stop my music. Then I hear it. They play it back. To say it sounded majestic would be a massive understatement. It’s was beyond words. The guitar sounded like a trumpet. It was distorted and otherworldly. Phenomenal A memory I will surely never forget
