Your channel showed up one day on my feed here and I noticed your little black kitten, Teddy. Teddy is the reason I decided to watch! As for France, that definitely wasn't what drew me in (no offense to France!). Teddy is precious! He is just adorable. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Just popping in to say hello from California! About 50 miles up the coast from LA. The fire destruction is heartbreaking indeed. My city is under a red flag (high winds) warning at the moment. Hoping i won't have to evacuate -- I hurt my back dragging potted plants in out of the wind and can barely move!

I hope your back feels better soon! The two of us have back issues as well, and it's really a pain (pun intended). I like the "in France" title. I want to know/see where other acreage owners/ renovaters/homesteaders are. I don’t necessarily want to see what my neighbour is up to. I know how things work here. 😊 Take care... from far away and "enjoying" a high of -25°C!!!! 🥶

I am a watcher of chateau channels. The Chateau Diaries I can understand why you would hate it. But Dan Preston rebuilding his from rubble is something awe inspiring. I like the Pethericks too because they do serious renovation that are skillfully done. I think Dan's massive growth is now funding the reno. These twi channels are heads above others like chateau Love etc etc where they just waffle on in their overly priviledged ways... Sorry to hear about your back, probably a bit of osteo arthritis setting in...especially given prior surgery. I find like you a couple of over the counter pills relax the muscles enough to get going again.
@lorihamlin360411 күн бұрын
I started watching Dan Preston Return to Rural France when I discovered him on Chateau Diaries as the gardener. His renovation of his farm property was fascinating but I thought he was nuts when he took on the burned out chateau. What he has done is remarkable and he works harder and is more skilled than anyone I’ve ever watched. Chateau D started with more to work with than Dan but has over the years achieved the right to success. So much goes into the filming & editing around the hard daily grind of renovations.

The “Going Solo” project. Maybe a possible new name. You have so many projects on the go, your house, garden, nature reserve and Teddy. Strangely I enjoy just hearing about daily stuff. Maybe dropping “France” in the title might be the thing to do. I think most people love to watch people overcoming issues in life. Please keep making your videos Marc but please don’t be pressured into making them everyday, I know it’s really time consuming.

I’ve been thinking which can be good or bad, what you need to focus on is installing your wood stove why you ask, if you had it lit , it would heat the very bones of the hose brinks or stone hold heat and your home would be very warm, I know you like your fan heaters that are good but they don’t warm your bricks and mortar , I’m a pensioner and I know best Marc as my sons will verify ❤

I came here to say something similar. I think this channel showed up in my side panel because I have been watching chateau renovation videos and am considering moving to France. I have a bad back and right now my sciatic is hooked on a bone spur causing extreme pain and a left leg that’s asleep. Been going on since May… If you do the dog and cat pose ( yoga) this will help your back along with a good dose of Voltaren extra strength. As you are getting older, you will need to strengthen your back. I’m in the process and maybe one day my sciatic will pop back. 😊

A few people have suggested yoga, I will need to give it a try. I have found that forcing myself to lay on a tennis ball on the floor where the spasm is that the muscle finally 'gives up' and relaxes and the pain subsides. It's worth a try

Ouch! I bet that was a bit scary. As for the what's next... I was curious after your video about how the $ works. It seems it's "complicated," but there is a connection between number of views and pay out. So, it only benefits you to have less videos and more views. I had suggest a few solid days or things you do each month at a certain time. I think you can train an audience to chime in. More to think over....
