We lost a day to rain yesterday, so the heat is one to finish this install in just two days!
Thanks for following!

I especially like your eye pleasing use of colorful round shaped plants, the yucca they had, bromeliads, barrel cactuses/cacti, agave, cycads, and mangave. It looks cool. The truck gently dumping boulder portion of the show was awesome too.

wow!! that's some work digging up all those plants.. what a beautiful tropical garden tho (and no maintenance!)... really sets off the house beautifully... the weather has really thrown a wrench into gardening plans but let's hope it's mostly done (rain next week too)... feel for those stuck up in Big Bear, very pretty but wow.. treacherous... great job here - you do have an amazing team!!! 🥰🥰🥰

You know that song, im a little bit country, im a little bit rock n roll? Well this yard is singing im a little bit tropical and im a little bit desert… i love all things cactus, but im not feeling them in this yard, they are looking like the red headed step child. Now i got that song in my head that i had not heard in years n im not sure of the words so i will be making up my own 😂 as i sing it over n over in my head

I'm really impressed that anyone came out and delivered anything in the weather we had on Wednesday. Yeah, the rain was coming down, but that *WIND* oh mah goodness, it was crazy!

Looks great, good to see this installation mature over yrs. Lol I’d take an olive over palm tree any day! Palms become rat nests around here unless pruned annually ($$$). Whereas my non fruiting dwarf olive is beautiful canopy for birds.

hahaha! "This thing" is a farfugium japonicum, "That thing" is a southern polypody fern. Love you Laura, this one is going to be an amazing one, like always!

I’m liking the mix toward tropical palms and the barrels. All about the mix of textures and reimagining what is there. Cannot always start with clean slate. That said, sigh, always room for more rocks❣️

Aloe ferox is one of my favourite aloes! Mangave plants are so beautiful ❤️, we do not have them in our country.

Shame on the pigmy palms they are so beautiful and take so long to grow that tall. Also love the olive tree. All of those plants would fit great into a Mediterranean landscape

I'm also not sure about the barrel cactus - though they are beautiful specimens. lt looks like a tropical island. There a so many lush looking succulents. Amazing what has been done in a day! ❤ 🎉 🎉🎉

So, an olive tree isn’t a Mediterranean succulent? 😮 😉 Those palms are beasts - they show up everywhere and are the dickens to pull out. This transformation is going to be amazing - go Team DFS!!

I have a question about the two aloe ferox. They look exactly like my Marlothii. Which ferox are they? And can they be the same thing? 😂 Can’t believe Griffin is 5 already!!!! Enjoy his T-Ball. We will be out watching Chase play Rugby 😭

I'm glad the olive tree is gone. They make a big mess! We had one. And neighbor's flowers would blow into my patio.

Glad she decided to get rid of the olive tree.I do like variety in a garden ,but I feel like the barrels don’t fit in.Looks very tropical and then there’s the barrel cactus. Please don’t hate me😬😁😁

I second that, the barrels look out of place with all the palm trees but besides that, everything looks amazing

The olive should of stayed just pruned to expose the bark, would of been great to the Mediterranean feel. Agree on the barrels I think those don’t fit

Glad you were allowed to take the Olive tree out. I dont know why anyone would want one in their yard...such a messy tree.

@@pattykelly6621 Olives are a lovely color but, be honest, they are messy when fruiting. Get rid of the slow growing, really large sagos? Are you on right channel? I love 'em!

My lovely neighbor (not!) planted a non-fruiting olive tree right next our shared property line, not far from my agave garden. The tree now leans towards the west, even closer to my yard. Now I must spend hours removing those hundreds of insidious little olive leaves that fall into all the folds of the agave and the top dressing. No amount of blowing will remove them - must be done by hand. A year-round unsightly hot mess!
