i love aesop carl so heres the lore dummpppp(i am his number one fan and hater) lore wise! aesops an interesting character, his mother died at a young age, and jerry carl became his foster father and he made him his apprentice, which is where aesop gets his last name. jerry saw him more as an apprentice and less of a son, and y.r(his mom) put him into his care because she thought jerry would show her the same care that he did her before she died. big whoops as jerry killed her. jerry teaches and grooms aesop into being the murderer he is now, and aesop being autistic doesnt pick this up and continues killing people thinking hes doing good (big shocker, murder is not good) jerry ends up getting an invitation to the manor, goes, and comes back insanely injured. aesop, being taught nothing but to kill, does what he knows, and uses jerrys teachings on him, killing him. aesop finds a letter off a womans belongings who he was supposed to embalm, and its to the manor!! he goes wanting to help "guide lost people" (which is just to kill them) morally grey and i refuse any other saying

He also wasn’t allowed in school due to his autism which further isolated him growing up. So Jerry Carl was the only consistent presence in his life and his worldview was the only one Aesop was ever exposed to. No wonder he thinks he’s doing the right thing

0:48 as morbidly comedic as his Likes/Dislikes are, he _is_ very somber as a person. Someone already gave backstory context, but I want to give some mindset notes as well: - His autism means that he probably struggles with loud humans, hence his "dislike" of the living (2023 Valentine event: "The store assistant talks a little too much, but it isn't annoying.") and his immediate like of Victor (who is quiet and prefers communication via letters). - The Subject File states that he wants "to guide those who had been struggling to end their life with dignity". i.e. more of a "Suicide Aid" than a downright forceful murderer. Of course the Subject Files are subjective (in-universe writer's opinions) but I think it's notable here because it does add up with the vibe imo - and also makes sense with him killing Jerry after he comes back severely injured from the manor. - If he can, he prefers to kill people peacefully, i.e. with their permission (deductions mention "only inject them if convincing them doesn't work" and that he has "greatest respect" for his "clients", and in 2021 letter he writes about wanting to communicate with Victor) My highly personal interpretation is that Aesop sees Death as some kind of "eternal peace". Because embalming them keeps them at their "best" forever. That's also why people being killed by other means (the fire in their game) makes him feel a bit guilty, since he wasn't able to send them off properly. It's not bullet-proof, but it's the internal logic I come back to the most. It doesn't make what he does okay, but I think he's really interesting (and somewhat tragic) and he probably would think quite differently from the jokes in this video, despite liking dead people :"D I hope that these notes gave some insight to anyone interested!! I'm always curious to discuss his internal logic with people, because i am laughably bad at actually understanding characters :V (or, I'm very insecure about it, at least)

aw aesop was a sweet kid but was heavly misguided by his Uncle, aesop believes in helping people by embalming them and puts great respect on his work, sending them in their peaceful last journey -he never killed a person and it was all Jerry's work until. Jerry went to the manor games, got injured and when he came back home, Aesop did what he learned from Jerry freeing from himself from Jerry's hands. Then game 3 happened (players could not talk to each other only sending letters). Aesop saw Victor wanted to embam him so bad, it was right there when Aesop finally understood what Jerry meant by "cohersing people who don't understand they need to be put down" he thought they could understand each other???? Anne trusted Aesop, because in appearance he looked calm and trustuful but Aesop manipulated her into killing the other player, (im not sure if it's Ganji yet!) In the end Aesop couldn't embalm Victor... I guess if he didn't go into the hands of that weirdo, Aesop would have a normal chilhood and a normal way of making friends instead trying to EMBALM THEM LMAO It's a story of wrong time and place; were the circumstances turn an innocent soul into the worst monster you could imagine. After all the path to hell is paved with good intentions

Embalmer sure is a character. He’s fun and adds some challenge to a match which is fun, but I ban him sometimes if I feel like the map is too big to risk it or I just get this gut feeling to ban him. Last time I went with my gut feeling I banned him against the S 6th Embalmer so it worked!

I absolutely didn't get disappointed. 🫶🏻 9:52 THE WAY MATTHIAS BABOINGED AWAY. I'M WHEEZING. 15:12 Aesop Carl sounded scarily similar to Freddy Riley for a moment. 17:11 NAHHH KARMA GOT YOU. 17:51 He actually doesn't hate his mother! She died when Aesop was still very young, and he was taken in by Jerry Carl, an elderly embalmer, and became his apprentice (which is also the reason why Aesop's surname is Carl). The actual serial killer was Jerry: He used his job as an embalmer to "guide" people to their deaths; in one of Aesop's deductions he basically tells Aesop that first he (Aesop) needs to try to convince them (to die, I assume), "and if that still doesn't work, go ahead and inject them with some bromide hydrate..." Fun fact: Jerry was actually invited to Oletus Manor! He also managed to get out of it alive, albeit gravely injured, and Aesop did what Jerry had taught him: He guided him to his death ("I know I will become him, and he will become what he himself would despise."). Also! Aesop didn't receive a direct invitation to go to the Manor. He found it in the pocket of a dead woman and simply decided to accept it as his own ("I believe it's for me, and she's just the messenger."). This is a very summarized version of his lore. He's a very interesting character to me. I love him dearly. I might have made some mistakes here and there so please correct me if I'm wrong! 0:52 This is a theory of mine but I think that the reason why he has a very prominent butterfly theme in his portrait is that butterflies are seen as a symbol of death and rebirth? I remember reading about it when HuTao from Genshin Impact came out for the first time. She's the director of a funeral parlor, and her skills are butterfly-themed. (Sorry for the very long comment.)
