But I have worked a bit in the film industry and have witnessed the dynamic: Movie-business-inexperienced person deals with films for the first time. Has no idea. Gets a small break. Then "famous" people move in. Whisper in inexperienced person's ear: Your director is no good. Your director messes up your project. We are better! You can do better. More money, better film, more fame. You undersold yourself! Inexperienced person has no tools to NOT believe. if it were a simple case of her misjudging the situation, she could just say she's sorry. however, according to another jounalist, last year she formed a production company to be able to make movies out of her own novels, and she probably didn't want any further investigation on it. my guess is that blake and ryan are part-owners/financiers of this company and were planning to grab the rights of the sequel already bought by justin.
