I had a HEDDphone ONE briefly, but my head is huge and would stretch the headband almost flat, hurting the top of my cranium after just 20 minutes. Two years later I missed it, so I bought it again, but this time I ripped out the headband padding and attached a suspension strap from eBay. Now I can wear it for hours. I don't suspect most people will be willing to mutilate their expensive headphones for comfort, so I'm glad v2 gives you that customization built-in.

I´m using the Beyerdynamic DT1990 for around 7 years now but consider to get something new for mixing and mastering duties. I consider the new HEDDphones, LCD MM-500 or the Neumann NDH30. The HEDD and LCD are very steep in price, not sure if this really is a must but on the other side it´s an important investment as I´m working more on headphones then on speakers. I think I need to test them all three side by side and dive into a mixing session.

I'm using the DT 1990 Pro for 6 years and I'm searching for a new headphone too. I already tried the NDH30 but for me they were not better than the DT 1990 for me. If I just would have more money I would just buy the new HEDDphones.

definitely not very 'beautiful' but awesome there's now a V2 version and you got to evaluate differences. don't know if you had the chance to compare it to the Audeze mm-500. similar price and both tailored for mixing and mastering....or even the Neumann NDH-30; would love to hear your thoughts. will definitely keep the HEDDs on the radar... thanks for sharing.

The MM-500 is more flat in the low frequencies but I prefer the tonality of the HEDDphone TWO, the TWO is more spacious sounding & has less 3kHz energy. Even though the MM-500 is 60g lighter, I prefer the fit of the TWO. Hope that helps.

@@sjqideez6626 hey! you already have the HEDD Two! very cool! thanks for your input! i don't have the MM-500. Have been working for the last 2 years with a pair of Audeze LCD-X 2021 (jazz and classical) but not completely satisfied with results. The low mids are a bit to 'fat' and would like a more neutral presentation...debating now if I should go ahead with the HEDDs instead of the MM-500 ....

@arthurhaywood2184
@arthurhaywood2184 Жыл бұрын
@@phable I’m not talking about frequency extension or balance. I’m talking about quality and the technicalities. They just weren’t up to the level that the midrange and treble displayed. Just boosting or correcting the frequency response was not going to fix the issue I had with them. I didn’t consider the issue as fatal knowing that this was something that the AMT Heil driver wasn’t originally designed to do. I was hoping that it was an issue that they’d work on and eventually solve.
@phable
@phable Жыл бұрын
@@arthurhaywood2184Completely relatable. The bass is often times problematic with headphones. And yes, the HEDDphone was no exception. However, I would pick precision over volume any time. And the HEDDphone always delivers in that regard.
@andreasschwarz4908
@andreasschwarz4908 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the devs mentioned in an interview that bass is a very challenging area for AMT driver design. In that regard, I will treat it like Stax HPs - good bass is nice to have, but it's not what I expect it to be perfect at - def. won't compare it to TH900, ZMF, biodynamics in general, or even the D8k Pro - I'd argue that those are specialist or unique, but not something I would pick as a reference can.

99% of headphone reviews will give some form of feedback on the bass/sub bass and treble levels and quality. You could have even compared bass and treble between the two models. I'm not understanding why you omitted that. What does tweaking an amp/eq have to do with anything? I know I can do that, but it's all relative to the initial tone of the headphone. @@phable

I could not mix in the Heddphone. I never cared for the Orginal Heddphone, as it is mis marketed to Mixing and Mastering Engineers, in order to get them correct you had to do to much with cross talk and headphone Eq software and I still was not happy. The Sound was to warm, smooth and boxy, strictly for Hifi listening. I returned the Heddphone. I needed a more aggressive snappy headphone, so I bought a Stax 009 and EQd it and I amhella happy, its awesome, details and flaws are easily heard. Its superior over the Heddphone...

This product sounds really fascinating! Got a pair of Studio Headphones on loan last week (Audeze LCD-X 2021) still currently using them as the free trial lasts for 14 days. I like them but I can only get the bass and mid range to translate to speakers unfortunately. Still struggling with treble. Its a shame no UK providers with loan schemes are currently mentioning this revisioned unit. Would love to try it out as i’ve heard AMTs are better FR wise than the mid range planar studio units.

@@phableThis is pure esthetics pov. Just not a fan of all the space between the cushion and the strap. It’s a bit too high. Functionality wise I’m sure it’s fine. Having said that I have no issues with my OG Heddphone. I take the occasional breaks, but I like how solid it feels wearing it and it looks like nothing else out there. IMO the smaller cans with a lighter headband from the OG would have been fine. As long as the OG will not be discontinued people still have a choice.
