You mentioned reusing zip ties. Another useful tip about them: most plastic zip ties I've seen are made of Nylon. Nylon needs to be hydrated to be flexible. If you find some ties that are hard and brittle, all you need to do is soak them in hot water for a while. I usually do it for a couple days. But they will behave as good as new once they are soaked.

Waste of time and money. You cannot recycle everything. If the tie wasn't clipped so close to the size, you may have some product to cinch it down. A temporary tie should not be cut down.

I'd wire it so the 2 triggers move the chute left and right respectively, and the buttons on the left joystick move the hood up and down (open and close). I'd also thread\zip tie the chute hydraulic hoses up behind the back silver area (@ 9:38) so they are away from the worm gear teeth.

I did this with my two. set them 10 ft apart and ran some 4x4 s I had between them and some other framing much like a deck (or a tent floor I saw recently somewhere). Then put sheet steel roofing across. I raised one side up higher so rain would run off. Used some hurricane straps screwed to sides of containers to keep and wind lifting although not a problem. Makes a great carport to park my tractor and lawn mowers.

To me it looks like those hoses should be on the back k side of that silver bracket on top of the Chute. It looks like each end is designed to keep the hoses from becoming entangled in the drive teeth of the left and right on that Chute. It also appeared that when you moved the Chute to the right there was less slack in the hoses the when the Chute was directed to the left.. by placing the hoses directly between that black and the body of the skid steer I think it would potentially solve both issues.

Now you know the joys of IMHO the best connector style on earth. If you are reusing the connector body make sure you are only using the plastic removal tools. The metal ones tend to cut the retention pin inside the connector. You can buy the crimper tools, pins, sockets and connector bodies online or from your local Cat dealer pretty reasonably.

As a amateur home owner you already had the connectors and the cable that mated to the snowblower. For less than $500 I would have purchased the female connector. There was only 6 active pins so finding the wiring diagram should have told you which pins to use. You already knew 2 of the pins being used. Direct connection would have bypassed the male/female connector on the machine side of the cable eliminating a potential trouble point.

That little "tool" @3:00...they make those that go in from the other side. It's got a little plunger and you simply push the connector out of the plastic block. Also, Deutsch is mostly just a brand name as far as connectors go. You could have fabricated your own harness using standard Amphenol connectors for much cheaper. I work on bowling machinery, and it's crazy how much AMF charges for their supposedly-proprietary electrical connectors when I can find the exact same stuff online for less than half the cost, lol.

Those J560 plugs are ancient technology. You can't even run LED interior trailer lights or airbags off of them in most newer semi trailers. You need an auxiliary power supply. I used to rewire them for Sysco Foods so we had interior trailer lights and liftgate charging capabilities from the truck alternators. Mind you, i don't work there anymore. DOT would have a fit if they knew I strayed from a J560. Deutsch USA makes good stuff. I picked up their HD10 9-pin plug for our trailers. Gave me the standard 7-pin from a J560 plus 2 addition plugs. One for the lights (as I mentioned) and a second for switchable household style outlets, so we can run a sealed plug in the reefer to charge pallet jacks safely.
