my friend Micah and I used to play duck game every day when we were kids it was one of his favorite games. He passed away in 2016, and every time I see this game being shown any from of representation it reminds me of him. It's so cool that so many people are learning about this game

Duck Game has been one of my most played online multiplayer games since launch, rivaling my Gmod and TF2 play times. Every time i recommended it to someone they glossed over it, but I'm glad to see it finally getting some more recognition

Maybe another reason why the game isnt as popular as b4 is becuz the main premise of it is just one-shotting people. That's it. No hit points added nor even a option about playing a match with more than 1 hit point, no mode where i-frames exist after every hit point deduction with a timer of how long will the i-frames last while having an option to have slow regenaration of hit points or medkits being randomly placed anywhere on the stage for increasing back hit points, no mode where the gameplay is like smash bros becuz knockback but with guns nor a mode where it plays like Gun Mayhem, no option to play a match where whoever gets the max amount of kills wins with infinite respawns to every player. No, just pure one-hit KO gameplay and I feel like not a lot of players would want that, since it's kinda like the battle royale genre where being killed in a game equals no respawning so all u can do is just spectate after dying, just go to another match, or wait for the match to end just to play it again.

As an aspiring game dev I can see that this game would not have done well without online multiplayer. I dont really like doing network programming. Or at least at one point I didnt, ive found it very intimidating... but clearly, its a requirement for a good multiplayer game's success. And so I must learn to love networking. I hope I just work on some single player games at some point but hey if I dont, ive recently become more accustomed to the idea.

Some of uncommon trivia: Players had to discover angle shooting by themselves, but Landon was first aware of that accidental mechanic - it's proven by one of unused Arcade challenges that places a trophy in an area inaccessible without propelling yourself upward with angle shooting. Game files used to be full of unused level files that were testing new features or experimenting with already existing ones.

Very surface level review, no mention of available large library of mods, which makes this game superior to Mario Maker (also borrows many stuff from it). Very interesting custom maps and creators, and the ability to shift the gamemode purely by using level editor with wire mechanics. And players make their own Arcade challenges, look up FeatherlessAlert. Also there were lots of struggle with the console ports which sparks discussion about porting games there.
