The trick to porridge is finding the topping that makes it yummy for you. Porridge is like plain bread, it needs to be taken up a notch. My favorites are cocoa and peanut powder with a touch of syrup or chopped apples and a little caramel sauce.

My dad puts sultanas in his. I like sugar on mine. I have porridge for breakfast for the next two days. It’s freezing here and everything is damp. It will warm me up but sadly won’t dry the washing!

For porridge if it's the texture that puts you off try cutting a banana into bite size chunks and mixing it in, then with each spoonful get a piece of banana

I absolutely loved the quick jumps between clips! It just felt so natural, I don't know if you've just always been doing it and I'm just that slow or if it was something you haven't done in a while, but yeah, very nice!

omg Grace you should try the drinks as Frappachinos!!! you can get them cream based too!!!! so no coffee - get the caramel waffle / gingerbread / toffee nut latte ones!!!!!
@krrrstyyyn__76252 жыл бұрын
You should try steel cut oats for your next porridge journey - the oat itself is much larger and has a firmer texture (kind of like quinoa but larger) so it doesn't have the same consistency as regular rolled oats when cooked (the tradeoff is you have to cook steel cut oats longer, but you can make a big batch and it's totally worth it). You can dress it up the same way as any other oatmeal but may prefer the texture!

Grace, you need to try jumbo oats! I tend to soak them overnight with soya milk and then in the morning add some banana or cinnamon. It's lovely... (I also don't like normal oats but these are different!). X

Grace, I used to hate porridge too. UNTIL... I realised I like mine wet. Mornflake Creamy Superfast Oats (1/2 cup), then double the amount of milk (1 cup). Loosey goosey, baby! Also, add the best toppings ever for a good time - Nutella, Biscoff spread... Loving the Christmas vibes, I'm putting the tree up today cos I NEED IT

I don’t like porridge either so I eat it more like a hot cereal. I heat milk to a warm temp then mix the oats, granola and toppings. It doesn’t make the gloopy texture and I enjoy it a lot!

tip for porridge Grace! since you like Ready Brek (don’t we all) blend your oats up into a fine flour and make your porridge on the hob as normal - then it tastes exactly like Ready Brek! not all stodgy and lumpy like regular porridge 😊

I like porridge best with *bare minimum* ground flaxseed mixed in, preferably also chia seeds - totally change the texture and taste for me, makes it far easier to eat. Then I put a ton of frozen raspberries or blueberries on the top and there's one with every mouthful (and let's be real, often chocolate chips as well).

Check out bedstee boutique or cityhub :-) also there are so much nice museums in Amsterdam(nemo, van gogh, anne frank house, Rijksmuseum) + great foodie places and "hofjes" and if you are into classical music or want to go to an opera, amsterdam is a great place to go :) just dont go to the red district :/ all that is just nasty and very trousity and totally not how the Netherlands is

Hi Grace, I'd love it if you could film in M&S, but more slowly so we in foreign parts can see what is there. Same with Sainsbury. I don't know if you don't like to film in stores or if it is not allowed, but I'd love to see what they carry. BTW, Starbucks in ON, CA never has anything nearly as nice as your store has!

Based on all the videos I've seen where you talk about not liking porridge even though you like soup, porridge/oatmeal can be too watery to taste good. If you can do homemade oatmeal squares, then a thicker porridge may appeal (with flavors that you know you'd like). Or, if you're keen on training your palette to be okay with the texture, make yourself some lentil soup that has more broth than lentil and see what that's like?
