If Africa becomes 2 landmasses, I can’t say whether the break-up will make earth turn into 8 continents. By that, I mean just think about the landmass of Greenland. Most people think it’s big enough to be a continent, but it is actually smaller versus everyone’s thoughts and is therefore not counted as a continent. So to my point, when the eastern part of Africa breaks off apart from the rest of Africa in the future, it may not even be a big enough landmass to be counted as a continent. Instead Africa could still be 1 continent, not 2, and the breakaway landmass could just be identified as a Long Island of Africa, while Madagascar itself remains the easternmost country of Africa still around then. ➡️ In the end, I may not even be alive by the time Africa breaks apart into 2 landmasses, so I couldn’t say if the new landmass would be seen as a new continent or not, as soon as it breaks apart.

The Human Race Timescale is a blip in time so the likelihood that the Human Species will be around when this happens, is very slim. Look at the damage we have done in only a few thousand years. To think we are around in another million or so is rather hopeful.

OMG they've used outdated Worldmap ! But don't worry about the splitting of continants because in 50 years from now the human world will end as we know it. 50 YEARS !
