@@zackfair6203 we still don't know forsure what we saw at the end of the game. All we have is speculation, when it comes to the timelines. But the term remake actually suggests more change than a "remaster" does. I get it, there were some people who were expecting a very safe modernization of the original. But FFVII didn't become popular by being safe. It pushed the boundaries of what a video game was at the time it came out. And square wants to recapture that for their second rendition.

I wouldn't say they've shown much. Midgar was a 3ish hour segment in vanilla. The main story alone in the remake is supposed to be over 20 hours. So, we've hardly seen shit when it comes to the new additions. They've been keeping that under wraps.

It is a f***ing stunning trailer, they're going crazy with the detail. Lovin that they kept the Honey Bee Inn; it put a lot of people's worries to rest and its a good sign of things to come. The pessimist in me keeps thinking about all those comments of people still butthurt that its going to be episodic, and how they are not going to get thos game until ALL parts are out, nevermind that will likely be some years aways and that if reception is not good it may affect us getting the conclusion at all. Red XIII was my favorite character and in my head all these years I have imagined what his voice would sound like and what his emotions would be in said voice..... they fucking nailed the voice in my head. Opening is exactly the same, CLoud still turns to girl, they still rope swing off the pillar, a chase scene on motorbikes....and the whole goal of the midgar section. Now, it'll surprise me if there are truly shocking changes throughout once we eventually play the game that Square does not want to show...that's the thing. And that could make or break it for me.

@@plutonium120 If you were using you're brain, you'd realize that people aren't excited about Cloud cross-dressing itself, but whether or not Square Enix would have the guts to keep it in today's political climate. Everybody knows Red XIII is going to be in the game, and people are excited for him too, but Cloud cross-dressing was a big question mark, and what it represents is indeed important to the culture and presentation of this portion of the game. Red XIII, not so much until later in the game. Also, if you say fuck off afterwards, it's not a humble opinion. So in my not humble opinion, you can fuck off.

@@Darkscoper chill dude that's my sense of humor. im very well aware of the political climate and the censorship implications on all aspects of society today. that being said, that's about the only reason i have to be enthusiastic for the retention of that plot element, (other than it's freaking hilarious) because it implies cheeky and politically incorrect playful themes being retained throughout the game (and have commented so in the past). all of this being said, this still does not validate the gross imbalance of comments fangirling over orthopedic underwear compared to a key character. i might see one other commenter talking about red, and dozens about crossdressing - and none of those mentioning themes we've discussed. and i do think it's safe to say that most of those crossdressing fangirls are not thinking that deep into sociopolitical climate and its implications on modern rpgs. have a nice day; eat a bag of dicks.

Yes and no. Agreed he has a lot of heart and a lot of genuine over the top excitement, which is different from over the top cringe fake excitement you see some times. That said, its a bit unfair to say everyone else is fake because they don't react as over the top. It is a joy to see Max get giddy and so excited and we love him for that, but its not the definitive thing you should use to gaige other people on their excitement.

Everything so far has been perfect. There’s only one thing bothering me and that’s the multi-part aspect of the project. I want them to let us continue with OUR characters (levels, gear, items, unlocks, etc.) when part 2 comes out. When every parts are out, I don’t want the experience to feel disjointed in a way the original didn’t. :(

Between all of the trailers we've seen, they've basically shown off the entire main story arc with the exception of one thing... ... ... How do Biggs, Wedge and Jessie get killed off this time round? Wedge falling off the tower would be both f*cking traumatizing given the visuals and unrealistic 'seeing as he speaks to Cloud briefly after his fall, all of them dying in front of you is part of the story so i hope they don't hold back on it. I never thought the Remake could live up to my personal expectations yet i am so glad... So soooooooo glad to admit that they have gone beyond what i thought possible. Palmar looks like an actual toad and it's brilliant!! Also i see Hojo has his sex dungeon again and all his Voyeur monitors. SeriouslySquare Enix *must* bankrupt bro... For real's.

You sir are not wrong. If theirs one game in all of videogame history that Square Enix *has*to go all out with... It's the FFVII remake. I mean as long as part 2 doesn't take another 5-6 years to make. The combat, graphic quality and character models are basically set in stone for the rest of the games so changing them would be suicide... And the overall story must be at least laid out to edit as necessary Locations/enemies both old and new, the overworld, voice acting and getting the character models to do what they want is all that's left... Oh and unique game mechanics like Fort Condor or the Gold saucer. The real work is just under half done i'd say for each installment.

I didn’t even know anything about Final Fantasy VII because I never played the original unfortunately. Only because I didn’t know it existed, despite growing up in the 90’s. But my best friend’s favorite game was FFVII, so he told me I should get the Remake. I had no expectations, and I didn’t know anything about FFVII, but this trailer is what sold me to get it. Just the scene with Cloud and Tifa in Nibelheim alone is what got me excited about this game…..I could instantly tell the characters and the world was something that I wanted to explore.
