It should be got rather than 'gotten'. The past participle of 'get' in English, as used in UK, is 'got'; the past participle of 'get' in American English is 'gotten'. Therefore it should be 'things would have got' ‒ not 'things would have gotten'. Inflections of 'get': past tense ‒ got, past participle (English) ‒ got, (chiefly American) ‒ gotten. ❤xx

Parading around Capitol Hill with American flags ( with not even one gun ) for a couple of hours before leaving, hardly constitutes a serious takeover of a country. But some people would want you to believe it. NB: Dozens of the protesters were imprisoned for over a year in horrible conditions.

Sounds rather redolent of a country in Eastern Europe today…it’s on the tip of my tongue. Peter’s right. The US-backed coup of 2014 is our Franz Ferdinand moment, and as Kennedy warned in 1962, you cannot back a nuclear-armed power into a corner and expect it to accept a humiliating defeat. Hitchens is a fool on the Trump issue. Or maybe that’s the one issue he fears being sacked over?

In general, I'm not keen on monologues, but when you've got the great Peter Hitchens in full flow, don't keep interrupting him.
@martinladley Жыл бұрын
C'mon. He's average, at best. This is MSM after all, and his family name ensure his continued appearances. Just checking in to see what narratives are being spread. Yes, Peter, the US backed 2014 Ukrainian Coup did happen. But what happened to your narrative thereafter ? Simply does not add up. Good to see so many thinking for themselves. Anymore vaccinations, Peter ?

Peter Hitchens always brings out the best in Mike Gammon
@francescostello1377 Жыл бұрын
Yes Mike he is a gammon, and Hitchen's mumbling fashion doesn't get to real truth. I only watch censored MSM as a point of reference, alternative media is the only source of actual independent information. George Galloway Moats and guests, Redacted, The brilliant Jimmy Dore, with no censorship.

I like Peter, my dog’s ears prick up with every other sentence. He would be a great sheep herder. Not denigrating his intelligence but he has the irritating uncle teeth whistle. His brother was for the spoken word, Peter is definitely for the written.

I don't understand how some one like Peter Hitchens can be so WRONG about the war in the Ukraine. The only reason why Russia has invaded is because of the treaty that was made by the west, Russia claimed that it felt threatened by the Russia nukes on Ukraine soil. So the west stated quite plainly that if the Ukraine were to disarm then if Ukraine was threatened again then NATO/ the WEST would defend them. Guess what when Russia invaded the west/NATO went back on its own word, as one american general stated its better to have a proxy war than a world war and also its in Europe and that's not our concern (ie no oil).
@Chris-the-Saxon Жыл бұрын
He's not wrong, the catalyst was the United States sponsored coup. The US and the lobbyist corporations had been heavily involved in Ukraine, (Hunter Bidens oil company). The Ukrainians had democratically elected a government that didn't like the US and it's corporations and was leaning towards a closer tie with Russia. That's the reason this coup happened which caused this war.

The Hitchens all had a job to do. Best ignored, generally.
@martinladley Жыл бұрын
Having not read Hitchens text: The Abolition of Britain, perhaps it is your task to suggest the "job" of this particular Hitchens. Their father would have been proud of his sons, that I do know. Maybe you don't understand the inference that provoked you ? Moreover, you may just be what is regarded as a "normie"; someone who cannot comprehend the levels of skulduggery at play in the world. The choice to know is yours. Hope you have been inspired rather than enraged. Thanks for the interaction, I wish you well, and hope you ca, eventually, appreciate why people do not respect the Hitchens. @ayyleeuz4892
