Great and useful video , mats are expensive , and being able to see before buying is a must , but my local store keeps them in the warehouse , not the shop . I have seen 2 here that I shall be buying.

It would be nice if they made smaller mats with terrain printed on them. Like a 1’x2’ mat with a hill depicted, or 1’x1’ with a farmstead. I know everyone loves the 3D terrain, but people used to use the flat terrain for Warmachine and Hordes. It just made movement and determining line of sight so much easier. They could even do one with a hex grid to eliminate the need to measure range and movement for tactical games.

The only addition I'd like to see would be a clear insert pocket on the carrying bag, like the ones you use for your address on luggage, with a little picture of the mat so you could see at a glance which one is inside.

Some beautiful mats right there. That first 3x3 one would be awesome for Shatterpoint! I currently use a Dathomir themed one but wouldn't mind one more just to mix it up a bit

Have you tried placing subtle things like rolled/folded tshirts and things underneath to emulate hills? Obviously it’d have to be soft to avoid folds and kinks, but it might really help to define things like the ice river and so on, provide different lines of sight and cover.

I've never done that, but it sounds like an awesome idea. I think it would work as they are 2mm and I will be using the bigger mats for 3x3ft games so reducing size doesn't matter. I'll definitely try it out and maybe do a follow up video. Thanks for a great idea!

@@tabletopskirmishgames id be very interested to see the result. Maybe test a few household things out and what angles certain minis stay stable at without sliding, as i reckon that might be a problem as well. You might simply not be able to play on longer sloping surfaces
