There are any number of people who pack away their camping gear, and the following season they get the the camp site and discover a leak or two in the tent, the gas value on the camp stove is broken, the the sleeping bags smell like mold or mildew. The smart person, who cleaned and mended everything before putting it away, is ready to go camping and relax. You, Phil, are in the second group! Congratulations! My cousin has a horse box turned into a coffee bar. It's a very clever piece of renovation. She has a generator mounted to the tow bar which takes care of lighting, the fridge, the expresso machine, and the water pump for the sink.

From the outset he made it clear that it was a rather private event and matters close to the heart. I'm grateful Phil shows us these glimpses of life that most of us would never really get to experience, but I would never be so impertinent as to question why he didn't show us more of his private life. One of my other KZbin content creators that I watch addressed some people in their comments in a previous video And how it should be made to be more publicly digestible. And I realized that since they no longer teach media literacy like they did when I was a child, a lot of people approach media as if it was made specifically to suit them. And if content does not meet their expectations then someone should damn well fix it! That's like telling the publishers of a Jane Austen novel that you want them to change it so that Mr Darcy is nicer. The book's been written. You get what you get.

Nine out of 10 I get sidetracked into doing another project-but believe it or not…. Little by little everything’s getting done ! At my age - - I just don’t stress anymore !! My Dad would always make us clean up and fix anything needed before it was packed away. As a kid, this would drive me mad, but now, as an adult, I get it. I don't know how many times I have been on a camping trip at the last minute, and I was good to go, knowing all my gear was in good order, and then I saw friends unpack and their equipment broken. Horsebox bar: I've seen a few of these; you can rent them out in Oz. I suggest putting a window in the front section and moving your stove to the front. That way, you have a window and a lifting door on the other side for ventilation. This will give you a larger bench to do prep or make drinks. On the wall with the bench, you can do shelves holding alcohol and glasses. On the outside of this wall, you could have mental brackets to slot in a pack-away kitchen sink. I saw they had a pack-away full kitchen mounted onto the horsebox's side, like a camper van, and when not being used, it was taken off the mounts and stored in the side. They had a 4WD awning on the back, so if it was going to be used for a few days in a row, everything could be left out. But if you google horse float bar conversion or rent it will show you some pic to get ideas. Hope this helped

Excellent work Phill, you seem to have a new bounce in your step these days. It really shows you're getting your spark back again!! Just an idea for the door to put waste in, could you make like a pull out cupboard bin situation with a couple of brackets holding it in place, the bins attached to the backside of the door, and cut it so it opens at an angel rather then pulls out, it leans out, to leave enough space at the top to place used bottles etc into, attached at the bottom on a hinge, so the whole thing closes back flush into the horse box side. Giving you easy access inside to dispose of the waste and save space. Rubber seals round the edge for when it's closed maybe. Lights I'd have low voltage LED strip lights across the back with some kind of neon LED bar light behind just to jazz it up! And resin fibre glass paint for the roof to seal up those holes and leaks. Maybe a little stable barm door to keep people out of it at the back that fold back inside when not in use with a loose latch, keeping it simple and functional. Sorry you asked!! 😂🎉❤ Congratulations on the fund raising 👏 🙌 glad ya all had an amazing time despite the weather!

Hi,Phil A suggestion for lighting the horse trailer bar. A cheap set of solar lights for the interior and one for the exterior of the bar. Build some fold down tables/ shelves for added prep area/ storage. You could, maybe, build a wooden box onto the roof to stow away the empty bottles, recyclables . Garbage bags could be used to contain them. I have a 45gal plastic drum that I have used for recycling bottles . Just line the drum with an extra large contractor garbage bag. Put it out when full and tie it . Put it in the recycling box on the horse bar. Throw the full bags into the trailer for the next dump run. I'm glad that your party went well. Very smart to fix, clean and properly store your party things until the next event. Time saving and less stressful.

I know how that goes. For 20 years I was involved in a weekend party, Friday night, Saturday and Sunday till noon. I was in charge of the facility, water, electric, kitchen and bar. I would start in May and if I was lucky I would be ready for the 3rd weekend in August. And yes it rained every weekend. I did most of the cooking. When I wasn't doing that I was running around fixing whatever need attention. Did I mention it was for 100 people.I would sleep all day Monday then start clean up on Tuesday.

A solution for muddy feet and protecting your floor (and mental health!); purchase the inexpensive slip ons for your guests and have a rack for protecting and organizing their shoes. If they’ll enter and exit frequently then they may put “their” slippers in the shoe rack for reuse. A solid bench for changing is essential. A sign may be useful at points of entry to prevent soiling the floors!

I'm in the US so my views are somewhat different. I don't have a horse trailer bar but I do have a fairly large fifth wheel camping trailer. I go "boon docking" (away from the normal power grid) several times a year. I use a generator when I need the power but a couple of years ago I removed the lead/acid batteries and replaced them with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, an inverter, and just a few solar panels. In cooler weather I can run the small refer, fans, lights and such for a couple of days before I have to turn the generator on. My suggestion for you would be to pick up an ECO Flow battery (talk to Billy about that) to power your bar. If you want to figure out the correct size take a look at all of the electrical stuff you have inside for the wattage, add it up, and multiply by the number of hours that you might need to keep everything powered. That will get you close to the size of unit that you will need. If you decide not to go that way pick up some car batteries and make as much of that stuff 12 VDC and the lights LED's. Note that you will find LOTS of other uses for the ECOFlow battery around the property. It has outlets for 12 VDC, 5VDC (phones), and a built in inverter for 120 VAC (not sure about European versions). I've got one that I use for a UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply) to power my computer equipment in the house. It automatically charges and when the power goes down switches over so my home network doesn't go down.

I’m not sure about using the front for empties. The space could get crowded quickly. Just have bins outside for those. I wouldn’t try to have too much serving space, you end up with too many servers in a small space.

We did events in public parks and everything had to be set-up usually early in the am before the event begins and removed the same day. I was in my 40's at the time and it was exhausting. Fortunately we also had a few large indoor events where we could set-up the day before - but again clean-up same day. Wish I had stage experience to give some help. Cheers, Phil and thank you for being a great venue (even with the rain).
