I stopped contributing to the National Trust after I visited a property where they were peddling the lie that staff who worked in the house were slaves. In those days local poor people were happy to work up at the big house. It was a privilege. To get a family member a job there was life changing, they were well provided for. They were clothed, well fed and had a bed. They were a community. You can’t impose modern values on previous generations , times were totally different. @@Camille_Anderson The RNLI would be breaking international law if they didn’t help someone in difficulty but of course some people don’t care about international law, they don’t just save immigrants you know and with the summer season coming the RNLI will be necessary but of course you don’t go swimming. In the sea so it doesn’t matter
