A good childhood friend of mine is friends with George Lynch and has made some custom amps for him. We used to listen to Dokken all the time in our high school years. I wish I had learned to play electric guitar in my youth, but I didn't buy my first electric until I was 47 in 2019. I now have 15 of them and am decent enough to start learning some of my favorite 80's rock tunes. This song was one of them. We had a high school band called Nemesis and covered a few Dokken songs. I was the singer.

Amazing job my friend at not only mastering Lynchs rhythmic intentions, and sounds, but also at articulating it for us. Thanks mate

I always found it to be 1/4 step down. Tuning a tuner (if yours will go down that low) from A440 to A430 gets you very close (it's technically A428.4 or something like that).

Well played! What do you think of Charvels raw maple neck? Is'nt it too rough on the hands?
@mastertheguitar4 жыл бұрын
The neck of my San Dimas feels nice and smooth but I did find I never really bonded with the neck on the So Cal I had.

Such a great song and a great lesson! Are you still happy with your Charvel? Wondering how it’s held up over the years because I was considering buying one. Take care

WOW!!! Nice job on the break down of a great 80's band but how are you getting your guitar to sound like that!?!?!? It sounds freaking awesome.
@mastertheguitar6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I recorded this with my Victory V30 amp with plenty of treble, the amp can really nail that hod rodded Marshall vibe. A lot of those classic 80s riffs were played on the DG strings which gives things an extra little bite too :)

Thanks for the info. Many on the net but very few have their guitars sound like that. Sounds professional and like Lynch. Thanks for sharing.

Would love to see you breakdown Dokken's "So Many Tears". Another great sounding masterpiece from lynch. Love your attention to detail breaking these down
