I do like how the chairs lightly match what they were in their stories. Gaston's chair has a fur covering - Being a proud hunter, he likes to show off his prowess, no matter where he is Frollo and Hans have fancy looking chairs - Showing their more privileged backstories Jafar has a rather plain, simple chair - Likely showing how he was hiding his powers and staying in the background to easier manipulate the Sultan

She is one of three in the group American Sirens along with the other brunette who has played Vanessa, the altar ego of Ursula in Villain’s Lair and Unexpected Musicals Grande Mermaid. They are outstanding. I recently learned that the third of the American Sirens, the blonde, is married to EJ Cardona from Voctave. I keep waiting for her to show up in the videos. She would’ve been excellent in the part of Emma in their Once upon a Time Unexpected Musical.

Idk if anyone has noticed this but when Gaston sang the line "Yeah listen to the man and ignore the wife. That's the only way for a happy life" , Anastasia lightly shook her head and looked at Drizella while Drizella's face was like "Ugh this man". They gave me the vibe of "pick me" girls but they still see something isn't right from Gaston xD. This is just my observation btw, the song is a bop and I can't stop listening to it 🎉🎉

I did notice that! Even the stepsisters were ready to reject him over that line. Gaston builds himself up as "the most admired man in France," but technically he is a "peasant" living in a small village. I doubt Lady Tremaine would approve.

The trophies were from animals he hunted, yet he said they were from "the wars," and then he claimed the three women that fawned over him were "widows," which I doubt is true. And also claimed that Belle left him for a monster, leaving out the fact that the "monster" turned into a prince. His line, "Did she think she was going to do better than a prince?" about Anna...well, Belle did better than marrying Gaston--she did indeed marry a prince! Now I want to see a video where Lady Tremaine puts him in his place for lying to her daughters, ha ha.

​@@HououMinaminoTo be fair, they draw on a number of different canons and continuities to flesh out the villains's backgrounds and motivations, like integrating some elements of the Angelina Jolie "Maleficent" movie for Maleficent's backstory or elements from the "Little Mermaid" musical and other sources to have Ursula as Triton's halfsister and the demigoddess descendent of Poseidon. So they also technically could reference the live action "Beauty and the Beast" where Gaston indeed explicitely was a war veteran.

And, best of all, that's actually pretty in character for both of them! Neither McLeach nor Clayton seemed to have any interest in romantic interludes in their respective movies as they were both driven by a combination of greed and bloodlust, so I could pretty easily picture them not being very sympathetic towards Gaston, Frollo and Hans.

It was so worth the wait!! Everything was on point. I loved Maleficent's backstory. Frollo roasting the sisters I did not see coming, my mouth just fell open. Loved the cameos!! Is that Madame Mim??? Also, the song is so good!! The story-book like pictures!! Why is Disney not doing something like this? There was supposed to be a Disney Villain show for Disney+ that was scrapped. I swear they should hire you all and make it official. It is SO darn good!!! Also, Maleficent's spectacular entrance with the green fire had me grinning like an idiot for the rest of the song!

Fun Fact: The Bimbettes are the closest counterparts to Belle's sisters from the original Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. Belle's sisters were cut from the film by Linda Woolverton, because she wanted to have significant focus on Belle's distaste for Gaston, and also because she felt they would have otherwise been mistaken for the evil stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine from Cinderella.

3:18-3:21 😱🥰 I love all the new villains, especially the more subtle ones! Took me forever to realize the waitress was Madam Mim transformed into her beautiful woman form. All the other new villains include Hans, Clayton from Tarazan, Madame Medusa from Rescuers, and the Australian guy with the monitor lizard from Rescuers Down Under (apparently his name is Perceval McLeach?). I’m so excited to see the cameos and thinking about what their possible roles might be if they are included in future episodes!!! I like seeing Yzma in her scheming outfit and was surprised to see Mother Gothel talking to the Australian guy. I also like the new villain tavern location! The stepsisters really got to shine in this episode too! All around this was great!

Yeah, I find the non-magical Disney villains like Frollo in particular scarier than the magical ones really, esp. as I get older, because of how they reflect real abusive personality types that you could encounter IRL as prospective partners, employers etc...? Even Hans is a bit freaky because his volte-face is something that one could easily see happening with a true sociopath, who presents very convincingly as whimsical & loving but in reality is just self-centred and even dangerous...

A 6 month wait that was worth it. Another entertaining song that was fun and didn't disappoint. Loved all the cameo villains singing in the background and how even in a song focused on toxic masculinity, Maleficent stole the show as she should. It was fun, dark and epic, perfect for the Villains Lair.

That was awesome! The music number for Hans and the bois had a great bumping beat, the various Disney villains catching our attention in the background was a nice addition, and Maleficent (my favorite) hit those notes wonderfully. I have heard of Sleeping Beauty lore similar to what Maleficent had revealed in her story. I have never quite heard of the idea of Maleficent helping Stefan become king let alone helping him and Leah bare a child, but that is a really interesting backstory! It makes sense that if she had helped the royals be together and have a child and that they did not play their part in the deal, then she would come back to take it all away again (cursing Aurora to death at 16 and all). The artwork for the stories of Hans and Maleficent were lovely as well. Was it Tony Wakim and Layne Stein who drew them? Great work! Anyway, kudos to the actors, the musicians, the crew, and all of PattyCake Productions! Can't wait for more of Villains Lair!

I loved how after the Great Lady Maleficent appeared and mocked them, all those guys had their balls shriveled up hahahaha. And you could see that the stepsisters actually didn't agree with what the guys eventually were singing about how it's all the women's fault, because they kept quiet for quite a while - and they only joined back singing after Maleficent put them in their place. They didn't have the courage to outright disagree with the men but at least they didn't join in - which means they still have Standards!

I have a theory about Maleficent: So Maleficent is a fairy, right? Fairies are known to make deals with unsuspecting mortals. My theory is that in the Pattycake version of Maleficent, Stefan make a deal with Maleficent, a fairy Queen, for the throne and then didn’t hold up his end of the bargain i.e. “pushing her down”. There are a lot of examples of this in mythology from Northern Europe. Maybe he offered her power in his kingdom or to be considered a member of the human royal court and he never paid up, and never the deal be public knowledge. And the fairies don’t like it when their deals don’t come out the way they like. They even might be angry enough to curse the first born child of the guilty party. So when Stefan did not invite Maleficent to his daughter’s christening, and invited literally everyone else, it spurred her to curse the baby of the king who betrayed her. Then the christening was just the cherry on top of a mounting grudge. -Okay I just noticed something… in the cartoon part, Stefan is seen pulling a sword from a stone like King Arthur. I bet what happened is that Maleficent created the sword in the stone or it already existed and she used magic to make Stefan able to pull the sword out. The people then flocked behind him, probably already knowing the king Arthur tale. I don’t this he is actually King Arthur as that story is in England and I believe Sleeping Beauty takes place in medieval France.

I think it's just a simple egoism. They just think too much of themselves and freak out when they are rejected. It hurts their pride. Let's not forget that Maleficent also sang about being rejected by a man. Five rejected villain sing a song because the heros hurt their pride. But i love.

Honestly, this whole video is a bit of fridge horror with lady Tremaine's daughters. Their mom raised them to just find a rich guy and get them to marry him. And this definitely highlights there no warning about him being a scum bag ever mentioned. Their throwing themselves at guys flashing some pretty big red flags.

The stepsisters seem more animated than the animated characters. Mad props. Also, the one must go through so much water to maintain that voice. I’ve tried talking like that before. It hurts. And Hans looks awesome! Great addition to the current line-up. Nice seeing Madame Medusa, Clayton and McLeach in the background, but I need to know why Cruella’s talking to Yzma in her science get-up. What are those two up to? Also, Mad Madame Mim’s bumming it as a pretty waitress? Didn’t see that coming, but not complaining. Totally cheered when Maleficent joined in the song.
