That’s why people said to not boost. If you didn’t boost, crashing Kit would have only dealt 1200 damage, meaning you’re equal, so Punisher is still unaffected. If they crash Elf you can target Kaleido afterwards. So wouldn’t have been able to out your Punisher that way.

You can't let Kaleido hit the field or sulliek and cryme are live next turn with punisher loosing protection. Kit walks in Redoer makes Kaleido Elf walks in come DP you're cooked. I remember when dragon rulers was at full power and it felt like you could no longer t-set pass. Then Pepe came along and it felt like you had to draw an interruption or power card to have a chance at winning. Then Spyral and it felt like you had to draw a hand trap. Tear though was the first deck I felt like I had to draw 2-3 interruption and 2 engine to even have a chance (so the god hand in every prior era of Yugioh). I actually think Konami is going to trend in this direction releasing broken archetype monsters like Kit with super strong background engines and then just put the busted card on the banlist for 5 years until they somehow power creep it. It’s not a sustainable model but they could probably print another 8-9 years of cards this way just permabanning the demons (Kit) that they created. Mill 8. They made a 1-card engine mill 8 in Yugioh. God I’ve been playing this game way to long. I remember when people said BLS was never coming off the list.

All in all even if he didn't exactly know what he was doing, he did things that I at least thought was good to hit for some cards. I think it is very difficult to really see the full extend of the insanity that is Ishizu Tearlaments on MD. Not only is it in a nerfed state, but also the pilots tend to be much worse. And because it is less opressive in MD, counters like Bystial tend to work much better. The TCG had the best variant of the deck by far and it was broken as hell. Having to play Bystials in the main as well made the matchup a lot more skilled because the Bystials were such an essential part of the game at that point. The nuance it added to several different gamestates was insane. Holding Fieldspell in hand to bait out a Magnamut for example was one of these plays. Using Magnamut on the first name in grave was correct if there was no fieldspell active. If there was however, the second name could be used to fuse, pop the Magna and reborn in with Dharc allowing you to make Beatrice with Bystial + Garura and match the Bystial search in the endphase with the opponent. I really wish I could take my Ishizu Tear deck out for a spin against Sykkuno irl to show him just exactly why this deck was hit as hard as it was.

If he just went into the fusion and then went into punisher then he would've been fine with his LP being really low and his opponent not just how to deal with it. With him not increasing his attack would've made it easier to just defeat his opponent next turn because they wouldn't have any out. Also his opponent had no clue what they was doing.

Sykkuno hasn't even seen the full power of tearlements there's so much more that the guy can do its a very heavily skilled deck you can't just click the activation buttons for example rhinoheart should have been played instead of him playing that merli and he could have shuffled more cards from his deck sense he knows that sykkuno isn't useing tearlemnts 14:45 somewhere around thier he said we're 2-1 its very easy to mess up tearlements with the fusion summoning that's why you need to take a look at everything you have before useing the effect

I would disagree with the Merrli play, Normal summoning Merrli was to bait the last remaining negate he had and keeping Reinoheart in hand secures that the Tear player summoned Kaleido-Heart without issue to one of Elf’s arrows. Without Merrli, Elf would have never hit the field and Sykkuno would have negated Kaleido-Heart once it hit the field. Also remember that Punisher was immune to everything when Merrli was summoned, so summoning Kaleido-Heart in the Main Phase would achieved nothing. Overall, the Tear player made the correct plays

Most people by this point know how to out Punisher. Even before the Tear player attacked with Kit, I already knew what their gameplan was and what the end result would be. There was no shot Punisher was going to survive
@TheCardTrooper
@TheCardTrooper Жыл бұрын
If that happened, Punisher still doesn't have its protection online. So they bring back Merrli with Elf (the PUNK Trap doesn't stop this since Elf can do it again in Sykkuno's main phase), set Sulliek. Sulliek can permanently negate Punisher by sending Merrli. Sykkuno can't make any further plays with the Sharakusai he drew, and we know the Tear player has Reinoheart. So he uses that next turn to make Kaleidoheart and it's over.

U did indeed just get a small taste of tears. However there's a very big difference between a good tear player and a bad one. So on ladder it will vary as to how broken it will look. It's a very complex deck and alot of ppl play poorly with it. U may want to adjust your deck to deal with this match up. Tear will be very common for a while. And there's soo much else they can do that u haven't seen yet.. it is indeed as broken as everyone is saying. 😅

It's nice to see him have such a positive mind set. Even though Skykuno's field didn't look like much, it would have been very threatening to an average tear hand without maxx C. He also played it really well for someone who wasn't already familiar with what the cards do. He'll probably soon learn that tear isn't powerful for doing one really crazy thing, but for doing 20 good things every turn endlessly.

If they had agido and keldo in their opening hand then nothing would have changed anyway even if Maxx C did not resolve. Their initial 5-card mill was already insane.

His opponent was pretty bad but Sykkuno still has a very poor understanding of card games. Thinking getting milled for 5 is “losing” 5 cards is incorrect considering how the PUNKs benefits from having cards in grave. Tearlaments don’t have effects that win by a mile, the just inch their way towards victory so consistently while piling up so many resources they are unbeatable, something newer or less aware players can’t grasp because they evaluate cards by effect not opportunity cost.

@WhatDaHeckIsThat
@WhatDaHeckIsThat Жыл бұрын
@@TimothyGod Not necessarily. Tear fusions trigger specifically when they're sent to the graveyard by a card effect. Time Thief specifically detaches material from itself at point of resolution, i.e. it detatches as an effect. If you Ghost Ogre, the sequence is: -Time Thief activates -Ghost Ogre activates -Chain resolves -Ghost Ogre pops Time Thief -Its materials are sent to the grave by game mechanic (If an xyz is no longer on field, its materials are sent to grave) -Time Thief resolves, but since it got popped, it has no materials to detach upon resolution, so the effect fizzles Since the Tear was sent to the grave by game mechanic, not card effect, they don't trigger.

Thing was tear ishizu came out nerfed because when the deck was full power on paper format, it was super broken and had like 95% tournament play in the YCS, it was just consistent decking out and reshuffling to fusion, all in 1 or 2 turns. Literally was the most boring shit I ever watched during that year of YCS since it was all the same deecks, I had more fun watching flunder and sprights
