Seems rare. As you said "all manufactures" Nankang indeed isn't the problem. Many have thei Semi slick tires on their Nordschleife Racer no issues. In any case better the tire than bearings!

Tyre worn and noisy as you describe some times reflect the condition of the shocks.

In this case the shocks were fine it was the cheap Chinese tyre that was the issue
