Draußen regnet es und das Thermometer kratzt an 5 Grad. Die Trailssaison ist vorbei, und es wird ewig dauern, bis draußen wieder Matsch gegen Staub und Schaufel gegen BMX eingetauscht werden.
Zum Glück fällt der Abschied der schönen Jahreszeit dieses Jahr nicht so schwer, denn die vergangene Saison ist nicht wie gewöhnlich ein großer blur aus Reisen, Spots, Sessions und Wetter. Dieses Jahr gibt es eine gute Erinnerung an die vielen Spots, die ich besuchen konnte und die Menschen, mit denen ich zusammen BMX gefahren bin, die Kochabende am Spot mit Gesprächen über den Strafvollzug in Deutschland, wer der schlimmste Politiker ist und welcher Spot die angenehmste Möglichkeit zum Wildscheißen hat.
Ich hab diesen Sommer geliebt und gelebt wie selten zuvor und möchte mich mit diesem Video bei allen bedanken, die das möglich gemacht haben. Danke an alle, die gefilmt haben, alle die mit guter Laune die Sessions bereichert haben und alle, die sich den Trips angeschlossen haben.
Danke ganz besonders an alle, die einen eigenen Spot pflegen, schaufeln und dabei nicht aufgeben. Ich hoffe diese knapp 35 Minuten werden irgendjemanden in irgendeinem Moment helfen, den Winter zu überstehen. Vielleicht bringt es jemandem Motivation, sich wieder aufs BMX zu setzen oder sogar mit der Schaufel raus in den Wald zu gehen. Ob es sich am Ende lohnt, sieht man immer erst, wenn man es gemacht hat.
Ein großes Dankkeschön geht außerdem noch raus an Bodo (SIBMX, Verde BMX, Tempered BMX, Sunday BMX), der einen großen Teil der Hauptdarsteller von It's Only BMX, But We Like It mit Fahrradteilen versorgt. Hey I’ve been out of the bmx scene for well over a decade, Can I ask about the gatekeeping on private trails? Is it still just about keeping the randoms away from damaging and hurting themselves? I don’t mean any disrespect I just see the work that’s gone into these trails and holy moly man wow, I can see not wanting everyone knowing about them but jeeze man that’s a work of art and a display of them is a treat. I could only wish to visit trails like this so I only ask out of my curiosity
