Here is what I want to see on the first play of the game from our OC: Walker on the left going long, Fred Moore on the right going long, Loveland to the middle, Mullins and Donovan in the backfield. Mullins stays in and picks the blitz if needed, Donovan is the safety valve in the flat or runs the wheel route. Worst case, take the sack. Best case, long completion to Walker, Moore or Donovan. Orji can also pull it down and run.

I really like that they announced it today. I absolutely hate when they think it is best to wait until game day for the new guy to be seen. Orji has been around a long time and hopefully he takes better care of the ball. The big advantage to me is Orji really slows down the reaction time of the defense and should help our backs get a split second longer to make a move in the hole.

Hopefully Moore and Campbell take the same approach with Orji at QB as Alabama does with Milroe. The offense needs to be tailored and called within the confineds of what Orji brings to the table at QB. That means allowing him to call RPOs, his big body frame allows him to be more versatile in a RPO style of playcalling. He can either hand it off, pass it, or pull it down and run it himself. Alabamas offense looks way better when they play to Milroes strengths. Similarly Michigans offense could potentially look better by playing to Orji's strengths. I just hate that it took till week 4 to finally name Orji the starter!

Good Pod today Like the hat Man! Orji needs to throw 10-12 times. (With a couple Bombs) Need to be more creative with The Don! (Maybe a couple of throws) If the Boys can pull off this upset, it will be a HUGE Turning point for this season.

I feel bad for Davis because he didn't get to play and develop much before being thrown in there. I think he will come back later in the season and do really well. I hope Alex does well on Saturday and they need to let him throw some passes down field. It's a "trial under fire" for him but I think he will rise to the occasion. If Michigan is going to be run heavy this year as indicated, the coaching staff should go back to 1988 and watch how Bo ran the Wishbone offense effectively. Michigan won the Big 10 and Rose Bowl that year. We have the personnel to run it again and it is a difficult offense to defend against. What they are doing currently is not working.

I agree, I think. I’m not a football knowledge nut (and somehow I played college football) but I have been saying we need to run more of a wing t style offense (what we ran in high school, I assume the wishbone is similar) with Orgi at qb, mullings and edwards in the backfield. Motion edwards out to the slot occasionally, put Semaj in motion constantly and just let the defense call the offense. To many weapons and options from the same look. I think it would be hard to defend personally.
@MiaSoreryOFАй бұрын
The biggest reason to start Alex is because the offensive line has been absolute trash if we’re going to have average quarterback, play and terrible offense of line play then the quarterback is going to have to be very mobile. Maybe Warren would be the right choice if we had the same offensive line as two years agowhere he has more time in the pocket and the running game is more dominant

Fans seem to be losing their minds this year. There are a lot of young players this year. And a lot of new coaches. So it is understandable. But I see a lot of upside as the offense improves. The O-line is starting to gel now in the running game. So they should lean hard on the run game. Especially with Orji running the spread. The defense has looked good except for the end of the game against Arkansas State when the 2nd string players were in and gave up two scores to end the 4th. And Texas is ranked #1 right now. So I’m not throwing in the towel on these guys yet. Get rid of the turnovers and penalties and Michigan will improve dramatically and be much more consistent.
