I can't help but get emotional when I reflect on my decision to join Discord. About 2 years ago during the lockdowns I felt lonely and antisocial. I decided to take a chance and join Discord. And let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made. I was lucky to find an amazing server and was welcomed into a community full of kind and supportive people. They became my friends, always there to chat and lend an ear when I needed someone to talk to. No matter how far apart we are. It also inspired me to share my journey through videos on my KZbin channel. I now make funny memes videos about discord on my page, and people seem to really enjoy them. Just wanted to spread the word about how this platform changed my life. Happy birthday Discord!

Even if ignoring all other reasons for NOT removing the discriminators, one crucial one I think is security Currently it's quite hard to spam or harass someone with friend requests if you have no idea what their username is, which letters are capitalised and most importantly their discriminator Removing that would I think open up a whole new array of safety issues as anyone with even a remotely common name like "bob", "epicgamer" or whatever would hardly ever want to use the platform
