About damn time, I hate ticketing sites. I just bought two three-day passes to a concert next month for myself and my friend, and the "service fee" was ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS. Like what fucking service are they providing that justifies that much fucking money? I could see maybe 20 bucks, but the tickets together were already over 300, so it's literally like buying a third three-day pass. It's fucking ridiculous. It was AXS and not Ticketmaster, but it was literally the only option to get the tickets. And the part that REALLY has me pissed off is the fact that they don't even give an option to get physical ticket stubs. The only physical option is a ticket that you can print out at home, which defeats the point of physical stubs for me since I get them to have a physical proof of the show that I can collect and hold on to. With the absurd service fee, I should be getting tickets plated in pure gold and a happy ending after the show, like Jesus fucking Christ.

Hey union stage hand here that has to work for live nation. They are some of my worst paying venues and they own every single step to the process. They book the artists to the venues, they take a slice of every ticket sale, merch sale, food sale, etc. Plus all the security at live nation venues are live nation employees as well. They literally own EVERYTHING at most concert venues

It feels like ticketmaster is working with the bots that insta buy all the tickets and resell them at like 2-5x the cost. Stuff that makes no sense is always sold out and you have to buy resold tickets. I just rarely go to things mostly because i really don't like how unfair ticketing feels.

6:50 If the cinemas had come together and bought the company, they could have used the tickets as a loss leader and put coupons on the tickets for consesessions where they make the real money. The problem is the cinemas are not good with marketing, they're lazy, and their conessession pricing often doesn't even make sense for the local community. Every company MUST have 1 loss leader at ALL times. It's so obvious. Not the ticket? Ok, a TINY cup of popcorn and soda. Anything to get them to come up to the consession stand. So obvious. 1 in 4 customers buys a hamburger and you have paid for 10 loss leaders.

I never understood why theaters never made a better deal with Moviepass. I used it a lot in Summer '18 and I was pretty much limited to seeing movies on weeknights when the theaters were otherwise empty or already had a $5 ticket deal going. Since my tickets were free, I was buying concessions way more often. If they already have empty theaters, they might as well sell some marked up popcorn and soda

I worked at Best Buy for 5 years, and I saw first hand people doing exactly what Chat was saying, going to look at the stock then buying on Amazon. I had a prediction that Amazon was eventually going to buyout BBY and use them as showrooms and warehouses. Amazon's biggest thing is shipping times, and they want to lower the shipping times as low as possible. Best Buy has a store the size of a warehouse in nearly every major city in North America. I predicted they would buy BBY during a recession, but the recession ended up being Covid and Best Buy stock exploded because people were buying from the online side.
