The air venting outside comes from the side vents. The way you have it installed pulls air from inside your bus and exhausts it outside. The condensate (water) is suppose to be thrown by the fan blade onto the condenser coil on the outside to help cool the refrigerant making the ac more efficient. The only part that should be inside is the face of the ac unit. You would be better off buying a 1 ton or 1 and a half ton mini split unit and mount it on the rear of the bus. There are a lot or other bus build videos showing various way of installing them.

Joel, the install looks clean but I did spot a flaw in your method. The side vents of the AC are supposed to pull outside air through the condenser. The way you have it installed you are using conditioned inside air and blowing it out through the condenser to the outside. This will also create a negative pressure inside your home, pulling unconditioned air through any path it can find. A better install would be to install so that you have a cabinet inside the cabinet with the front wall at the front of AC and gaps on the side so outside air can be pulled in and exhausted. I've seen a few cargo trailer conversion videos that had examples of this using window ACs.

What about mounting an "arm" to the side of the 2x4 behind you on your right side that extends to the center of Lenny and about the same height as previously mounted.

I vote NO on the head mount of the GoPro only because you don't realize how much you move your head while driving until you put on your head. If you can keep what you are doing but find a place to move the mount LOWER and FORWARD on the window where you have it, heck I don't know! You will just have to experiment as you said. I think it's still great and you are not going to be able to keep the bus parts out of the picture. Just my humble opinion as a lover of those shots! I stand corrected. I guess I missed the part that said you are putting two of those A/C's in the bus. I think that might just work after all! Sandusky Ohio is where my dad was born and it is also home to one of the best amusement parks, Cedar Point! Looks like the roads got crappy in that small town. My guess was wrong, I thought it was Walmart. And WOW, fancy plates at that Craker Barrel. Good times! Send some of that rain this way. We only got a little piece of rain but we need more! Safe travels!

Thanks!! And no ugly box sticking out of the side, which I like! We finished it up (functionally) today and it seems to be working great. Time will tell if it's any better than the last unit! Case DeFruita looks like a lot of interesting stuff! I'd like to see the peacock they have roaming around there. Gonna have to add that to our road trip destinations when we head down the coast again!

Lots accomplished! Lenny looking good. Yeah, I'm going to have drain pans under anything that can leak/drip condensation, always a good idea as water damage sucketh. Say those park post cards will look very sweet and hopefully bring back wonderful memories when you look at them! Happy travels! 😹
