Andy I can't wait to see the chickens go in their new home. You guys take such good care of your farm and the animals and knowing how to build things saves a lot of money. It doesn't have to be perfect so long as the animals enjoy it. I'm glad you're putting something over the top to help protect the chickens. Take care and have a good week.

Andy I think Maggie was supervising you on the closing of the gate😅. That sunset was so pretty & yall have a peaceful looking homestead. I really enjoyed this video & seeing all the animals ready for their supper . It's sweet how Candy goes into her stall to eat her food. I hope y'all have a good weekend & looking forward to see what Monday's video is about. Whatever it is, I know it'll be a goodin.

Looks great! I have been missing having chickens and turkeys. Will have to look at chick catalogs this winter and see what I want to get 😊 I always used the rubber tubs for their water so it is easy to get the ice out.

Andy if it was mine , over the house I would take a piece of cardboard and trace the opening. Then cut it out off a piece of treated plywood. Then your sure nothing can get in . That is unless it’s as small as the ridges .lol glad you put the door on hinges I think you like that better than having to pick up the whole wall and move it .

I'm no door builder andy but the one flap on the hinges needs to be on the inside of the door you might find that works better just saying😊 i would also just get some netting.Like fish netting and put it the full length and width of that chicken co-op.They can't get in that way, especially not the Hawks.Or eagles whatever you might have out there

A hawk or a owl which they hunt rate at dusk and dawn can easily pick a chicken through the top of that cage I've even got bald eagles here I never thought that they could get up and take off because the trees are so high around my property but they can I learned the hard way so I had to put ropes crisscrossing all across my backyard 8 feet high and even now got a smart one that comes down and lands on the roof of my 5th wheel and goes through that way but now I don't care if they take a few chickens 'cause I got a bunch that don't lay anymore and I don't like plucking so they're welcome to those ones the only problem is for some reason something keeps taking my bard rocks I've only got two left out of 6 and only one is still laying and I don't get the egg anyway because Rooster gets in there before me and eats the egg I wanted to get some of those to hatch out but that Dang Rooster keeps beating me to it And get this the Eagles run around under two feet chasing the chickens until they catch one luckily I got out there before it killed it but it definitely lost a lot of feathers And one day I went out there and a bald eagle had a chicken running around and it kept yelling at it and it wouldn't leave even I had to pick up a rock and throw a rock at it before it would let the chicken go and leave I don't want to kill no bald eagles I like bald eagles but my neighbor keeps shooting them and he shoots owls even send me a picture about two or three years ago he shot a spotted snow owl beautiful owl but if I raise any crap about it I lose all my birds because I live in the city limits now and you're only allowed six laying hands no roosters and I've got 15 chickens and one rooster so I'm kind of stuck in a hard spot I did warn him if he shoots at any more eagles across the highway and towards town with a 22 rifle that shell has to come down somewhere and let me landed some one's top of their head I told him he's not allowed to shoot him he said yes I am i'm allowed if they're coming after my animals and I said no you're not allowed because you live in the city limits it's illegal to fire a firearm off in the city limits so luckily his dad is my best friend well was my best friend I told him that if he didn't stop I was going to have a talk with his dad because his dad owns the trailer that he is living in beside me and his dad lives across the street and all the trees around my property are all park berg sanctuary he shot a ball eagle right across my property into the trees on the other side of my house nowhere near his birds

That is excellent wire you guys are putting on that cage that is the same wire I have all around my property and it has been up on my fence for 25 years now and looks the same and it's holding up the post because the posts I've brought it out now and the fence posts just hammered into the ground but now here that stuff is so expensive can't afford to buy anymore it's over $200 a roll for a 100 footer

Seems like when my husband built our little gate going into our fenced in garden, he put the hindges on the inside corner of the gate board and post instead of outside corner. I might be mistaken, but I think that was it. Those look like the same kind of hinges he used, but I'm not positive. Lol. Anyway good job guys! Coop looks great. 😊 They also sell that lightweight plastic type netting that you might use across the top if you worry about hawks at some point.
