I am shocked that it's 2024 and people still don't see the downsides of crossplay. It's not as simple as you get to play with your friends... For crying out loud just think for a moment about the perks that having add-ons on PC brings. Now imagine a console player trying to keep up with that? Some will say that addons don't give that much of an advantage. I would argue that any advantage that the other platform does not have access to is too much of an advantage, but to humor that assertion, If that's the case then would you be okay with getting rid of add on support for PC in order to implement crossplay? If it doesn't give any advantages and it shouldn't be an issue for PC players to have it disabled. Fundamentally, cross play would create a massively uneven playing field. I'm not about to start all over on PC, and that's why I'm on console. If cross play where to be implemented across all versions of ESO I would immediately stop playing. Don't even get me started when it comes to PVP .... Controller vs M+K. If people want to do crossplay, then do some fresh start servers where they have cross-play enabled. That way people who choose to start fresh in cross-play can do so. Maybe give people the option to do a one-way trip opt in into a cross-play server. Another great option would be cross play between PlayStation and Xbox, but not including PC. PlayStation and Xbox are essentially an even playing field, so there's no reason cross play can't be implemented between those two platforms.

cross save would be good. I have my fully levelled toons on PC-EU, but my connectivity to that server sux (as i've mentioned before). The ability to move my toons to NA would help me greatly. I'm more than happy to have to start over with gold if everything else (houses etc) transferred. Zos is able to copy your toons to PTS, so why not a different live server.

Good one... I think you gave part of a solution to the economy.. it all swirls around Crowns.. the selling price is 2200:1 PCNA and say Xbox NA is 200:1.. treat gold the same way. Is it perfect? No, but it would be better than moving over with nothing. What I mean is, Crown selling pretty much defines the economy.. I have had guild mates ( housing guild ) transfer money over from NA to UE on the same account. I gave them 2mil on NA, then gave me 2mil on EU. The money went further on EU buying furnishings! My 2nd account is DakotaNoel and say I wanted to move it over to Xbox NA.. But someone else has the name already. Not really an issue, Zox gives me ( as the person moving over) a choice.. Add a number to the end (or something), or come up with a whole new name. Easy-peasy. the onius should not be on the person that is already on the platform. It's pretty much the same as If you wanted to start a whole new account, if the name is taken, the name is taken. Just because 'you' are porting/switching over doesn't mean the person that was there 1st with the name should be penilized.

IMO the only feasible way to go about it is to create a 3rd server (instead of NA/EU) and it would be the cross platform server. People would have to start from scratch on it character progression wise, but you would be a part of a new bigger gaming community. Would be crazy to see the pioneers starting a fresh server trying to get the servers first time clears on everything when it would potentially have access to all the best players eso has to offer.

@@Agumon5 I've been playing 10 years on xbox and I don't use my xbox anymore outside of emulating nintendo games... I want my stuff back. Starting again and having to pay hundreds just to get all my stuff back like the DLC and crown store items is stupid.

That’s exciting if it happens. I have Xbox and PC characters but I would gladly overwrite all the PC data to have my 2015 stuff. PC players have also apparently been living without built in voice chat this whole time, need a fix for that

I had a max lvl , former emperor title and it was on ps4 and that account has been lost to time . I really wish I could have my old account with all my achievements when the game first came out

As someone who played in 2 platforms I'd be curious about how this would be done. Maybe have the collectables be cross-platform first.

Yea I think the hard part would be purchases carrying over, but in game earnable things like titles, achievements, xp I think would be doable without concern there.

YES PLEASE, I've been wanting to move my Xbox save I started on Launch in 2014 to PC since 2019... FFS let me have my stuff back I miss ESO SO MUCH! I tried starting again on PC but just getting everything I had back was like $400 I can't get back and I just hated it.

Cross progression for collectibles and dlc. I can lose the currency that's not a biggie. But I had like every single upgrade on Xbox prior to moving to pc lol and I realllllly don't want to rebuy them. Especially the older versions that aren't available anymore.

Maybe I'm just not understanding things, but why is "economy" in a game so important? It's just a game, we are playing it for fun, it won't change the real world economy if I walk about with 100.000.000 gold. Can someone explain why this is a big deal?

In some ways i get this question, the gold would just be flowing freely on the 'new' server....if we were to leave our gold behind,, then wouldn't that be the same as removing it? I mean we wouldn't be there to use it. It would only serve to bolster the economy on the 'new' server. I guess where the issue might be is if there were massive numbers of player, for instance leaving Xbox and joining PC - then there would be a massive loss to that economy, and it would affect many other players who don't 'move house'. Less gold in circulation means less wealth overall. I mean if you are just sitting on your 100 Million and not spending it, you've just amassed it and effectively removed it anyways, but those who buy/sell would be affected

ZOS has rejected this idea several times. the economy sure is one aspect, also technically it might not be that easy

You do know they did this for PC players. They let PC players upload the characters to any consoles they choose back in 2014 when ESO drop for consoles. It’s definitely possible.

This has been confirmed to not be an issue by rich and Matt anymore at this point. The technical limitations in the past were the issue but look up recent interviews where they talk about it. Primary issue now is logistics. Much more real than ya think!

Find new friends in the same console, problem solved. The moment you see cross progression in ESO, be prepared to grind your ass off 4-5x.
