Interesting take on it! I feel like YT is getting better at promoting smaller channels out there. A tip I have is to have the mindset of feeding KZbin with videos that u wanna do, and eventually it will figure out who to send your video to. That also means you have to focus in a specific niche and specific style/keywords/type of videos. I randomly came across this video btw! Good content keep it up :D

Great inspiring video to those who want to start! First barrier is to start posting videos and not to worry too much about it even if it's not good, the only way to get better is to keep DOING and learn through those mistakes and fix them. Then it's just all about consistency and persistency.

Does anyone else really struggle with finding a niche? I feel like I have so much to talk about, but I'm not an expert on any specific topic and I'm not the best at explaining anything. I'm just the girl that people go to for advice and to be replenished in my daily life when they feel down. Other than that I think KZbin is going really well. 6:45 I agree with this 100%. Rather than focusing on having the “perfect” video, starting is the better option so you can learn. Decision paralysis is so tricky when you’re trying to think of an interesting video idea. I like how you compared this to cooking - just because you aren’t a perfect chef, it doesn’t mean that you can’t cook at all. Better to try & learn...than to not do anything at all! :)

Not enough people talk about motivation. It's hard to create a video you love, but it's even harder to see it go completely unnoticed. Getting through that "nobody is watching my videos" phase is tough.

You are so right! Can totally relate. I feel I’m going through this phase right now and trying to push through it
@arvindbachoe4 жыл бұрын
Jodie Dewberry yes true, but isn’t that with everything?! It’s part of the game right? If you would stay unnoticed at work (or as a business owner) you would have a hard time too. It all comes down to your intrinsic motivation to begin with. Setting your goal realistically and doing what you love. If you work hard/efficient to find your perfect mix and stay resilient you will eventually get success. Question: does motivation come easier with proper goal setting and action?

This video came at a great time. I started a channel a few years ago about DIY haircare and when I first started I wanted to help other women take care of their hair and really embrace their curls. But, I always found it difficult to be consistent because there's a lot of other topics that I want to talk about... I love talking about philosophy, life lessons, photography... and I just picked up hula hooping as a hobby this year and I want to share my journey with that as well... I have so many things that I want to share with the world but I feel like I have niched down so much that I'm scared to talk about these other topics because I don't want to confuse my audience... I know people always talk about niching down as much as possible to help your channel grow, but for me, I feel suffocated.
@arvindbachoe4 жыл бұрын
Vyala B how about you incorporate your other topics in videos you already make about hair? Just expand the storytelling part. Keeps it interesting for yourself and you get to see if people enjoy hearing about that from you. Chances are they do and you will create a stronger bond. They get to know you on a personal level too and would probably appreciate you more. No more suffocation for you! 🙏🏽

Am I ever going to grow? Why are others making more progress than me? Listen...I journaled, took a week off..then got down to the root of it- I AM DOING THIS BECAUSE ITS MY OUTLET. It’s my therapy, it’s genuinely something I love to do, because I am the director! And that got me refocused. If I never blow up, I will be OK. Because the 13k+ views I’ve already gotten have shared my art/service authentically with someone/anyone. I’m ok with that.

I've been thinking about starting a KZbin channel for months but just had the guts to do so last week! I have no background with video editing whatsoever but wanted to give it a try. Then I found your video. It's my second time to watch it now and it's helping me feel less overwhelmed! Thank you! 💕 I still have so much to learn!
@themindlessmess4 жыл бұрын
Haha video editing can be very stressful in the beginning. I would suggest to start with a beginner software like iMovie or Filmora X (filmora X is very affordable for the features is has). There are multiple tutorials out there. Even I'm planning to make one in December.

Thanks for the video Lana, the quote about getting to 10k being tougher than 10M is really inspiring. It certainly similar in the finance world, getting from $100k too $200k is much easier than 0 to $100k. In short, getting started is always the toughest part!!! 💪

Great advice. Thank you. Your cadence of speech has got mellow energy, which I find enjoyable watching after work while cooking or doing things around the house. And I agree 100%, everything starts off with an idea with words being the best tool to expand the content. I need to get back journaling.

im really glad you mentioned about being tied to videos your initially post: I find it hard to accept what i create especially if its new and others havent done the same and this leads to me wanting to delete to feel safer, but then i try and force myself to accept and admire what ive done even if some people dont like it or whatever

Hi Lana! Hope you are doing well! I really like what you said about first videos not needing to control the rest! However I don’t know if it applied to me. I successfully gained 135,000 subscribers mostly because of 1 video that blew up. However I am not in that niche anymore and I have changed my direction. I used to talk about makeup and DIY and now I like to talk about self development. Please reply and let me know what you think! x
@arvindbachoe4 жыл бұрын
Hi Raval, what about a video for your subscribes explaining this message and let them decide if they stay or not. Do you get the same watch time? Because big sub numbers without the watch hours hurt the channel because the algorithm thinks your videos aren’t interesting anymore (so I’ve heard). You can also do a message in the community tab. Good luck!

Not Lana, but I just wanted to say that your amazing group of followers obviously like your beauty content but also you as a person. In my experience with watching vloggers shifting their niche it makes the content even better as you truly sense the creator enjoys it. Good luck!

@@naijagems8656 I've actually never used iMovie. I don't have a MAC so I had to stick with what works on my PC. I wonder if iMovie is more "user friendly" and simple? Thanks, Lana, This is really helpful. I've been experiencing a bit of lack of motivation and putting out less and less videos while at the same time trying to make the ones I do get to create more interesting and watchable... It was awesome to hear that it takes time to get more and more authentic and more you on camera because I feel I'm pretty funny in life but on camera somehow it comes out robotic... Or maybe it's just my self judgment? Either way, really enjoyed your video. You have nice energy. :)

I definitely agree that it can be very disheartening to be posting videos consistently and not getting views. I feel like I spend soooo much time on my content (with the planning, research, filming, and editing) but YT is just not promoting my videos. I post videos about psychological concepts as well as some school based or KZbin based videos but everything is very methodically done! I’ll just have to keep going and hope to get noticed!
