since i’m someone who isn’t a content creator- i have developed an absolute love for samples recently. they’re a way for me to satisfy my curiosity for trying a large variety of makeup without collecting a bunch of stuff i don’t have room for and definitely don’t have the budget for.

Hey Lauren! I don't paint my nails much at home, but i have nail polish that i super love, so i just take it to the nail salon and ask them to use it - it's actually helped me get even more use out of my favorite polishes and give me more options than they usually have (more fun, different colors/ finishes)

I did same thing a few weeks ago and took items to a women's shelter. The administration lady said they are so useful and appreciated. Sometimes beauty items are not what people think of donating to places like this. Just an idea 😀👍🏼❤

42:21 I store my brushes, lying flat in drawers, organized by what they do. I even have a special drawer for my expensive brushes! I had to do that because I have a cat who thinks the brushes are cat toys and when you spend $100 on a brush, you don’t want to find it behind the couch in a dust bunny! 😂😂

I have everything in a drawer when they're clean, separated by function. Once I use something, I put it in a decorative cup on my desk. Then I clean the used ones every other Sunday and put them back in the drawer once they're dry.

Hi! I'm a retired retail executive, spent 32 years doing everything from being a part time sales associate during high school to VP of stores/operations, to being an executive in a very large IT firm, travelled all over the world selling technology and consulting services to the most wealthy powerful people in the world...I cried at work, in meetings MANY times. Very early on in my career I was in a meeting I was still quite junior but was working my tail off to move up in my company. I was being hammered on by the President of the company I began to tear up, which made him even angrier, my mentor at the time who was the CIO looked at the President and said " Mark, you do realize that the same PASSION that drives Brooke (me) to give 150% on every single task we give her, is the very same passion that causes her to tear up sometimes?"...I will never ever forget that minute. No one had ever stood up for me in my career, no one had ever put this so succinctly in my life. I am a crier and that's perfectly ok! I still gained the respect of my peers and those who were much more senior than me by doing what I said I would do, by being honest and always sticking to my own moral code. Some people cry, some don't. I really hate that I was made to feel so weak for so many years in my career because sometimes I would cry. I also determined that when I was more apt to cry I was likely extremely over stressed, lacking sleep, my time of the month- so hormones so out of control and we have ZERO control over that. So, that day in that meeting I made a decision that no one was ever going to make me feel embarrassed or that I was weak for crying. Some people cry, some people shout. Some people don't say anything but leave and go smoke a fat one in the bathroom or take 3 shots of vodka in the break room. Crying is as natural as sneezing. I hope you do not ever let a situation where you cried make you feel anything but, you were feeling real feelings in that moment and that is how YOUR body processes those feelings. I know you're going to nail that exam next time ❤

Try putting the brushes into 3 separate organizers. 1 clean and ready to use, 1 dirty to be cleaned, and one out of sight with the brushes you have used. After a month, look at the last organizer and declutter from there! It may not be a lot, but it shows you what you realistically use.

I use glass yoplait oui containers for my brushes on my vanity. Yes. Yougurt containers 😂I’ve tried everything and that has been the best solution for me. I keep a hard snap cup case for my stage makeup brushes. It comes apart once I settle into a dressing room. And I keep all my travel brushes in a bag with a microfiber towel so I can lay out all my things in a hotel room.💜

For Brush storage I use the etoile 5 divided box. But they have a cover and keep the dust out. They are expensive. I do have a lot of brushes. But I find they are good quality and worth it

You could consider buying clear full cover tips and making your own press ons. You could get plenty of use out of your polish collection and save money on the salon or buying press ons. If any of your polishes are drying out a little opi thinning drops will revive them ❤

I store all of my makeup brushes in kit bags so that the dust and dirt can't get to them. So easy to wipe down to clean. I bought from an irish makeup brand but have seen mykitco and similar from other brands 😊❤

I have some similar brush spinner things. I got 3 , 1 for eyes, 2 for face, then I have one of those bead brush holders with 3 separate spots for my natural hair blush, bronzer and highlighter. I like that it has a lid but I squish my brushes sometimes.

I ordered the crystal brush holder from Lurella, it has 5 sections and a top that comes over to cover them - that was my main draw because I hate how if I clean all my brushes and have them in cups they start to get dusty etc even if I'm not using them. This way they stay fully encased so they will stay clean until you're ready to use them.

Loved this 😍 That Moda brush with the long flimsy bristles is my absolute favorite for applying highlighter! It just applies it in such a natural way because it almost melts the product into the skin because it goes on thin. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but it’s one of my favorite brushes.

I wish I had all the brushes you has especially the BK beauty ones . Keeping the annoying samples especially the deluxe ones are my issue like if I really want to try something I'll use it and put the rest aside like I'm ever gonna use them then all the sudden clutter. I have found some HG products through samples so I guess I'm not complaining but the crap foil ones suck I don't even bother to pick out them anymore.

My God I have so much makeup I mean I probably have 100 loose powders alone and at my age I don't even love powder anymore, it's so bad. That's probably the smallest category two don't get me even started on how many lipsticks Ione, how many foundations Zion, or how many eyeshadow palettes. My single eyeshadow collection is stupid it's so huge. Most of my things don't get used in its for exactly the reasons you're talking about things get shoved in the back. I have probably 5 boxes that came from cosmetic companies that sent me you know six or seven pallets in them so they're fairly large. They have backups of stuff I didn't even know I had until I open them up. It's that way with my skin care, it's that way with my hair care, I have a problem and I think this video might help me.

Commenting way late on this but I store my brushes in pretty mugs or mugs I have that have cracked and have become unusable for holding liquid. Also, leftover candle containers!! I know you have some of these, Lauren! 😂
