Brilliant vlog Rick, there are so many people that want to see you fail. I have had similar experience myself over the years. Money is one thing, but being a decent person is priceless and also respect people. You certainly don’t seem a backwards guy and pretty clued up on lots of different types of work. All haters need to start taking a look at their own lives before trying to bring others down. Basically a form of bullying in my opinion. You and Shelley seem to be real nice genuine people. Loving the content keep em coming 👍

Always did low earning manual jobs, even a 9 months spell in Macdonalds, step back from people who are bad for my mindset.You heard the saying Love everyone but don't sell your sword . Lovely video. I’m 75, trained as a hairdresser in my youth, had lots of jobs to fit in with bringing a family up and working to pay my mortgage off, which is the best feeling in the world! Whilst working in a very busy popular pub kitchen, which I loved, all be it poorly paid in those days, a waitress said to me ‘ why dont you get a proper job! That knocked me, we were all on the books, payed our insurances and taxes. I couldnt answer her. These things happen in life, always interesting to here yours and Shellys journey.

Very cathartic that Rick. I’m sure the bloke who came out with the MacDonalds comment thought he was being funny but it was a disrespectful and ignorant comment. Thankfully he’s not a close friend. As others have said, peace and happiness equals success. I think the older you get, the less you tend to find other people’s opinions really count. Especially if they’re not close to you.

Rick I worked on the oil rigs in the North Sea in my early 20’s on very decent money but I wasn’t happy in my life. Fast forward I work for the NHS Scotland and absolutely love my job as I feel it makes a difference to people. I’m on I’d say average money but I’m so happy in life plus the pension is decent. You are a great guy Rick and should be proud of yourself. Btw people who look down on McDonald’s workers etc are not the nicest people I respect anyone who actually gets off their backside and provides for family. See you in July in new hoppys. Life is a roller coaster (shite song) but true. We have all woke up and cried at our life and our bank account. There have also been times when i have had too much money. We need to find the balance of life, between money and happiness. I tell my kids, we are are not all lucky enough to choose our career but what ever job you do be the best at it. Promotion and money will come. Some of the best jobs i have were also the lowest paid, but as long as i can pay the bills and buy a couple of pints am happy. or enough to buy Rolo some rock climbing boots and safety rope.

Hi Rick, Think we have all come across people in life like this bloke, I know I certainly have, being a cab driver fore 34 years, al be it working my way out of the car and into the office, "When are you going to get a proper job" heard so many times from not just friends but family as well. My thoughts were I am good at this and I am going to be the best I can at it, now I have a great position, 85+k a year mortgage paid new car 4 weeks holiday, always now in Tenerife BTW, respect from all my peers, and still apparently not in a proper job, sod them, I have proved to myself they were wrong. Coming over on Sunday 28th mate Hope I meet up with you and Shelly, would like to shake your hand and buy you a beer.
