If you're interested in the pinball red check (no spoilers, just the lore you missed): . . . . . Kim had to infiltrate a pinball ring when he was a juvenile police officer. He had to train for *9 months* to become a pinball champion. He moved on to homicide cases after that. Some people called him Kim Pinball Kitsuragi or Kimball to taunt him about it. You can do that. Also, if you've met Cuno and have 4 in Empathy, the latter chimes in and says "So that's why he doesn't want to talk to Cuno. Trauma-and-Stressor Disorder from being a juvie cop." (for 15 years)

This is probably my favorite bit of Kim's character development in the whole game. I think that cars became the thing he poured his energy into to replace pinball after he got so burnt out on it that he never wanted to touch another pinball machine in his life.

One of my favorite pieces of hidden character development in the game. Also worth noting it's implied a big part of the reason he got stuck as an undercover juvie cop is because his Seolite heritage made him be perceived as younger than he was to many in Revochol, playing into his feelings on being the constant target of casual racism as well. I actually came to the comments to say I really wish Brady passed that check because it would have been a gold mine for him to discuss!

32:11 You can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks Also, your explanation at 58:56 is a great way to show how you can have a drug addicted run in this game. Feeling the need to take some alcohol, some smokes or whatever to pass a red check. You feel like you did everything you could to get enough skill points to pass the check, but you take some drugs just to be sure. After all, how can you be a "super cop" without them?

I know people give a lot of suggestions on what you should do in this game, because there is a lot to do and miss-able content. I'm not too fussed about you missing some stuff, I've played this game enough now - I'm here for the psychological commentary. That being said... My one tip would be to take a note: *After you meet Ruby* (whenever that ends up being) *make sure to put on the horrific necktie straight after! It will talk to you and have some interesting dialogue that may be crucial to your Harry story. It's also freaking hilarious.*

Since you're going to get a gun, there's a small quest with the timing, and you have to come exactly at that time, no minute later, make sure of it!

Yo Brady, in my playthrough I also bought the blue medicinal spirit but missed its use, it's so easy to miss. But here's a tip: right after you sort out the ruby situation, equip the talking tie!

Something to note about the Karaoke skill check is that it is a Drama check. It is measuring your ability to lie. To suppress your own emotions to deliver a performance that is palatable. Take that as you will.

Thank you! I'd say while I'm always thinking analytically in the background, it's important for the way you interact with the person in session to still be natural. A good therapy session is deep and technical under the surface, but should just sound and feel like a normal conversation 🙂

Singing karaoke in the evening does raise your chances also now that the signatures quest is finished you can get your gun after you speak to evrart

Ah, yeah, forgot this is the stuff the game expects you to do before you can find your gun. The shipping container was only suggested because it's a very _unique thing_ and will allow you to never worry about money, but at this point, dunno.

i'm surprised he had so much trouble with the signatures. i just simply forged them so if anything goes wrong the washerwoman and the fishing lady can't be held responsible, since they never agreed and their signatures was faked. I saw that option as a way to protect them and tricking Evrart

There is no shame in savescumming if you feel that strongly. You can also get an additional interface point if you keep searching for the armour. There is also drugs that can boost your interfacing. I think it's speed? The addition mechanic (tempting you with skill points) is so great in this game. Of course, there was actually another option listed that you didn't pay attention to. You can get someone else (the alcoholic trio) to do the fake signature for you.

When you told the cook to add more vodka to the borscht, there are important consequences. But I will not explain it now since it would be very spoilerish. There was another option to forging the signatures yourself. You needed to talk with Idiot Doom Spiral to find out about it. But it is too late now.

Witnessing this character arc is akin to playing the game for the first time and that's a high bar to reach. At least that's how it feels to someone like me who had their mind on other things and didn't even stop to consider the gravity of Harry's "unimportant" decisions. :P My recollection of it is: "Oh this Evrart fella needs few signatures so we can move on the plot. Kim lend me a pen so I can write them real quick and get back to doom mongering." I noticed "Get a reality lowdown (from Joyce)" task was unfinished. That would have been worth an entire level I think, around 70 Exp. But this bumbling way was better anyway.

Its actually been on since the beginning of the playthrough. Unfortunately many things are still getting flagged and it seems quite random. 50 episodes so far haven't had an issue with Whirling's tunes and then suddenly this one flagged it like crazy. I don't get it 🤷

Hi brady i know you aren't really a fan of the necktie and you have expressed frustration at not really getting what it represents, you've probably also gotten a lot of comments encouraging you to equip it for key points. I have been thinking about the necktie a bit lately and I think I've figured out whay exactly it represents. The necktie is Harry's midlife crisis personified. Where electrochemistry serves more as your chemical addiction, the necktie tells you to do things because harry wants to be seen as young and cool, he thinks drinking and partying are a part of that and he wants to avoid responsibilities because he still wants to hold on to his youth when he wasnt in as much emotional turmoil. So that's all well and good but then why should you equip it? Doesn't unequipping it just represent moving on like with the removal of the expression? I dont think so. By keeping the necktie in your pocket you are simply avoiding your problems. The necktie and the idea it represents still occupy a space in Harry's identity, influencing his choices. You need to go through the heart of the issue to get past it. Ignoring it just puts it aside temporarily. There is a key moment coming up if you have it on you that im sure the other commenters have been encouraging you to equip it for, this can lead to the culmination of this persona, giving it a proper sendoff so harry can move on, like with the expression but id argue this one is bigger and more impactful. It also gives more info on Harry's past. Ultimately you can choose not to listen to me still. Play how you want, i never even got the necktie to talk to me during my first playthrough, but i think it represents an i.portant part of Harry's past and quite frankly i really enjoy how it is used in this game. Anyways i love your playthrough can't wait for the next part!

Fun fact; in playthroughs where you drink the Borscht it gives you a PERMANENT +1 physique every dose you drink. You could get 3, 5 or 7 doses depending on your electrochemistry, which helps you get more doses out of drugs at higher levels. As a result it's possible to have an insanely high strength.

The innocentic quiz is great. Especially the obsession with Delores, which is really a product of Harry’s act of putting his ex on a pedestal. He associates his ex with a godlike figure, the greatest Innocent. It’s just emphasizes his really unhealthy relationship with his ex, his idolization of his ex and the past and how that’s really gotta skew his views on women. If they don’t live up to those expectations then he’s gonna demonize them. It’s the virgin/whore dynamic
