I've gone through multiple purges in my time of collecting. First, I boxed up and stored tons of nintendo/mario themed items. Then wii games, and then ps2 games. Then my basement was full of 10 or more bins of hundreds of games and collectable. Around a year ago I made the decision to sell games I would never play. Turns out most of the wii and ps2 games I owned aren't worth the effort of listing. However what wasade me almost 20 grand. I still have all the nintendo themed collectable in storage. Within the last couple weeks I again had to look closely at my collection. I had hundreds of switch games taking up space. Purged those down to games I may play eventually. Same goes with my ps2 and wii games. I went back through what I had originally kept in my game room, and was being more honest with myself, and slimmed those down. I've so far made over a grand. I use all the profits to go back into my collection. My game room, which I couldn't even walk around because I had so much stuff piled on the floor, since the shelves were full, is now open floor space. Unfortunately for my family, I moved all the stuff on the floor into the living room. Where it's been for 3 weeks. It's a slow process, but I want to do it right. Finding space for what I want to keep is impossible, and many toys and collectable will likely be binned up and put into the basement. Good luck everyone facing these issues. It's tough. It's also nice getting money to buy some rare or wanted items versus keeping all those lame games you weren't going to play.

That's the biggest problem with collecting just to have stuff. It's why I've never gone out of my way to buy any game I didn't intend to open and play, collector's edition or otherwise. You should do a video on the prices of switch games, and how the switch is possibly the first nintendo console whose entire lifespan also occurred during the rise of "being a collector/reseller" trend on youtube. Within the last 10 years or less the amount of coverage for game collecting has soared. New conventions, New youtubers etc. The price of mamy switch games is over a hundred, and the console is still current. I think the youtube scene, making collecting the cool thing to do, along with the spawn of game collector/reseller content has artificially driven the switch into what is normally happens when a console becomes retro. Will 100 plus dollar games rise even more, or slowly drop when the new console comes out? A game like stern pinball sells for almost 100, but in a couple years will that demand fade and it gets back down to a 10 game? Just an idea, possibly not worded right. Hope you get the gist.
@googlemods73944 ай бұрын
@@ryandann9362 it’ll probably be decent for good games. The switch is basically the 1st, albeit a very weak, handheld console. Where as before you had psp/vita/ds and those made it very clear they were entirely different games and nothing compared to on console. Now you can get some of these games we’ve all enjoyed on console and play it (horribly & much worse most of the time) anywhere on the go. I’m guessing Nintendo will either play it smart (probably not) and invest a lot of money into the switch 2 to make it very or somewhat powerful and they can truly cash in on the first console handheld. Although maybe steam deck is crushing them already.

As collectors it's very tough to get rid of stuff we perceive as valuable or that have memories attached to them. However, whether you decide to store or sell them, I just think that a collection this sizeable takes too much space. And since our taste in games or figure collecting change over time, there's probably at least 40% of stuff that don't really mean that much to us at the end. In my opinion, having a huge collection like yours may be a waste of space, and it becomes a dopamine rush to get the next new thing in the market. The size of a product has a big bearing on if I want it or not. Most of the time I pass, its just not worth it to me. Americans are crazy wanting kiosks, display cabinets, great big huge signs, statues and displays of which you seem to have a few. If your viewers are outside of the US, your basement or whatever it is, is bigger than their whole home in certain circumstances. So this video is kind of lost on them. Like me for example.

I thought you were gunna sell them then you said pack them up and put them in the attic 🤣. Your still gunna have them so it's not that big of a deal really.

I have sold alot of games and systems cause i ran out of room as well ! But majority played and didnt like so i sold to buy games ill actually play and some sold for cash as well when i was behind so it helps . Your collection is awsome though hope for you to get a house with a big enough game room soon in the coming years ! 😎

I cant believe just one human being has this Much stuff in their house. If you really think about it, humans suck. Lol. Just for our little enjoyment (and most people still aren't happy) we have all this stuff.

You're going to shove them into the attic? Just sell them mate. What a waste! Edit: Good, you're doing the right thing, excess heat can damage Switch carts over time.

I was gonna say! You would find them melted had you stored them in the attic...

If packing up games and want to be able to access use comic book long boxs fits great for modern games. spine out 2 rows easy to find when llooking for games in storage. Problem with tots impossible to find a game without unpacking the whole tote

Unless your attic is climate controlled or well insulated? I wouldn't put them there.

I would sell all collectors editions and rebuy later if needed.🤔

Just expand your game room into the rest of the house.
